Impeachment
Tuesday, May 1 at 1:07 PM

Robert Alan Brown of Mancos writes:

Officials and Servants In Government: The current “regime” in the White House has not only desecrated our World reputatio and the rights of the American people as per the Constitution, murdered thousands of innocents in the name of oil, supported corporate creators of noxious environmental killers, and turned religion into a political tool, but they have lied, lied, LIED with a straight face while doing it. (The above is merely a PARTIAL list of their horrible influence.) I am writing to ask you to forget party affiliation; forget your “career” as a public servant; forget jeopardizing your quite extreme paychecks (Compared to “We The People") and do the RIGHT thing—A thing of conscience: BACK IMPEACHMENT PROCEEDINGS FOR BUSH AND CHENEY! Why? Because it is your duty to PROTECT the afore-mentioned Constitution; Restore and Protect our World reputation; Protect our environment and “Planet Home"; SPEAK AND ACT for us who cannot but have chosen you to do so.
Please, don’t do the politically “safe” thing—Do the RIGHT thing. The time has come for justice to be served. Do it for AMERICA!

As much as we all wish to see the criminals in the White House brought to justice, the Democrats will never have the spine to do it.

If there actually were any grounds for impeachment the power hungry dems would have already pounced on Bush and Cheney. So far all they've done since winning the majority in congress is posture. Where's that new direction they spoke of? Oh I forgot, they never really said what ride they were taking you on, did they?

Robert - Nice triade. Please lower the emotion and provide a specific listing of your charges.
Thank you

Talk about a "Culture of Corruption" Harry Ried and his Phoney Land Deals, and Nancy Pelosi and her funneling no bid military contracts to companies controlled by her Husband should be grounds for "Indictment" and removal from office of these Scum. Don't get me started on that Treasonous Jerk, John Murtha who just by the skin of his teeth got away from being indicted in ABSCAM. So Mr. Robert Alan Brown you need to look at your own party of Left Wing L:iars before you accuse anybody else of it. Just crawl back under your rock and lick your wounds like a good little Dean Leftie.

Posted by Ron on May 1, 2007 03:23 PM

Why all the hate, Ron?

The hatred from the right is truly scary. Yesterday I saw a truck with republican stickers all over it - one that said "Vote Republican - stop the democrat hate"...then, right next to it, was a sticker of Calvin pissing on a mexican flag. OH, the irony!

Posted by Tbone on May 1, 2007 05:00 PM

Waaa, waaa, waaa, Brown you poor little baby. Are you going to impeach John Kerry, H. Clinton, Murtha, and all the other dems that voted for this war too?

Posted by GooGooDolls on May 1, 2007 05:34 PM

I can smell the fear on these Authoritarian Bush Cultists. Their cowardice is more pronounced with each regurgitated talking point they spew.

Posted by Charles B on May 1, 2007 05:41 PM

Did Pelosis husband get military contracts? I thought that was another lady. Pelosis husband is an investment banker.

7:38,

I'm speak down to you when you're all growed up enought to type out a name.

But you remind me of this fool named Keith, who types the most ridiculous run-on sentences, stringing together breathless fragments of stupidity just like you...

Posted by Charles B on May 1, 2007 10:01 PM

I love the people who put down those that do not user a name and then sign with some ridiculus nom d' plume like Tbone, Truth, or they use first names and/or initials , as if that really identifies them and takes more "guts" than not signing. Explain this to me. It's all more of the I'm right and your stupid type of inanity that these people with time on their hands like to partake in.

brown, you uneducated meatball. If you were not so stupid you would know that you just lied, lied, lied.Get some professional mental help.

Posted by Keith on May 2, 2007 09:18 AM

You go Keith!!!

In this day and age you do really have to be afraid of getting attacked for your political beliefs especially if you are conservative and that is why people don't give their names. Libs like to say that conservatives are bigger haters but I sure have never seen a lib shouted down and attacked like conservatives have been in several major colleges in this country and obviously that is where a lot of hate begins.

Other countries hated us long before Bush or we never would have been attacked before him so that is such a lame argument.

The libs are the ones wanting this country run by George Soros and the leftists and the Dems are bought and paid for by them.

Posted by troll on May 2, 2007 09:50 AM

chas b it sure makes your true nature come out and shows what true moron you really are. is that your real name or one to act superior to others that you use. why not try loser it would fit

Posted by on May 2, 2007 09:52 AM

Now let me see if I can get this straight.

First we have potty-mouth with "meatball", "stupid", and "lied", all in one sentence; and then, we have a dissertation from "troll" about "libs"; and finally an anonymous post calling Charles B a "moron". All three right in a row.

BUT, these are the people who "really have to be afraid of getting attacked for (their)political beliefs".

DUH!

Anybody able to find some sense there? Anybody at all?

Or have they all read von Clauswitz: "The best defense is a good offense"? And have thus decided to always be offensively defensive, rather than attempt to deal with the questions, and ideas, of "political beliefs" as such?

Posted by Old Grouch on May 2, 2007 11:18 AM

Come on OG, you aren't defending the tongue of Charles B are you? That guy can't post a thing without hurling condesending insults back and forth.

Posted by KW on May 2, 2007 11:34 AM

Old Grouch: When was the last time you were attacked for your political beliefs? I mean physically not verbally? Like those people who were "asked" to speak on the college campus? Likewise when was the last time you heard of a liberal who was asked to be there attacked on a college campus? Changing the subject to me or anybody else does not answer my question.

You have mastered the practice of demeaning people's belief with words but certainly have not mastered learning to listen to both sides of an opinion. I'm sure you will have a not nice come back but that is OK cause I won't answer it. Not worth it!!!!

.

troll,

About 5 months ago, sir, to answer your question. I sometimes wear a medallion in place of a bib (necktie) when I go out. It's the anodyzed aluminum representation of the marijuana leaf, which is my way of lobbying for legalization - of ALL drugs, but the medallion serves its purpose to point up my political belief on the point.

Were it not for the assistance of some friends of mine who were with me, I would have been slugged in the mouth by one man who saw the medalion - at the meeting I was attending - and got quite violent about it.

Setting aside the fact that I'm 78, and use a cane because of arthritis, the incident itself is enough. I was attending something to which I had been invited. I was not one of the speakers, true. But just the presence of a piece of jewellry was enough provocation for that attack. (Much like the bumper sticker on the car in the parking lot, and the T Shirts worn under clothes, were enough for the Bushites to refuse to admit people to a public event.)

I do not demean your "political beliefs" with words. Indeed, sir, if you read at all, you would know that expression of your BELIEFS is something I stand up for at all times. Free speech is always a two-way cutting sword.

I do think that some of the expressions USED about others, however, do not fall into the category of "political beliefs". Rather, they are open to critique for other reasons.

I do realize that postings without some kind of "bite", be it insult or whatever, do not always get read, or paid any attention to if read. On the other hand, while certainly allowable as free speech, postings that rely solely on personal insults do nothing to enhance the value of an idea or belief.

Over the years, I think I have listend to much more than just "both sides" of a question; usually a goodly number more than 2, in the case of "beliefs", political or other.

KW,

We all depart from what one might call "College Debating Society" manners here. Some of us much more often than others. I merely found the juxtaposition of presentations - "fear of attack for POLITICAL BELIEFS" and the use of certain insults - to be incongruous, and commented accordingly.

I think it's obvious that I have no fear of expressing myself - "political beliefs" or other ways and opinions - I just get a bit tired - as I am sure we all do after a time - of senseless epithets being used in place of thought.

Posted by Old Grouch on May 2, 2007 01:21 PM

Old Grouch: Sir I have a new found respect for you. I am honestly very sorry for what happened to you but that certainly is not a normal thing. I know you have heard about the attacks (and there has been several) that I was referring to.

I am honestly terrified for my children and grandchildren because in my opinion I think the Democrats want to give the government way too much power in the guise of taking care of "all". I don't want the government to have any more power then it already has. It just seems that all you do is laugh and put down any conservative opinions about that. At this point the Republicans seem like the least "scary" party. You can not even get me to believe that Bushites (I am not a Bushite) have not been turned away by Libs from a public event either, it just doesn't get reported. Heck Democrats won't even go on Fox news cause they claim it's not fair to them. That is so funny as I have seen a lot of Libs on Fox that get way too much say in my opinion, so it's just an excuse because Fox shows both sides. Now I know I will hear it about Fox news.

Thank you for your response sir.

Posted by troll on May 2, 2007 02:16 PM

I agree OG. And I too try to remember to take those like Charles B with a grain of salt. Otherwise I end up ranting insults just like they do.

Posted by KW on May 2, 2007 02:19 PM

KW, OG

I think if you take an honest look you'll find that I have plenty of posts with substance.

But I will respond to flames. I think it's part of the fun of this forum, as long as it's taken for what it is, which is a bit of fun. I don't take insults to heart. Condescention in my opinion is a superior form of insult, especially if it's funny.

For policy discussions, research articles, news, and whatever flavor discourse you prefer there are moderated forums far superior to this one where a lack of civility will get you booted.

Without the humor and occasional catfight this place would be pretty boring.

Posted by Charles B on May 2, 2007 04:13 PM

Charles B.,

I just happen to have a lot more stuff-shirt way of responding than many. Wrote too many papers for presentation and scholastic criticism; and then went on and became the critic and grader.

My sense of humor - as you might have seen - tends to wander over towards Brett Harte and Mark Twain. Not that I do all that much of a good job at it; but it does kind of reflect their response to what I found so very often as coming from "Ivy League" types - or those who wish they were - when condescending to deal with usns out hyar in Injun Fightin Country.

Indeed, your postings are usually quite well done, from all standpoints.

Sometimes I think that about the only reason for coming here is to have some fun. And of course, a bit of "bear baiting", as Sharon would call it. A tip of the hat, and a thanks to the Rocky for providing the opportunity and the place.

Posted by Old Grouch on May 2, 2007 05:01 PM

OG, you are brave enough to wear your pot jewelry and I don`t even put pro-choice bumper stickers on my car.

Imagine two cars, one plastered with conservative and religious symbols, parked near a liberal college and one with pro-choice stickers and Darwins fish with feet near an evalgelical church.

Which car do you think would be vandalized.

Where I live we keep our Darwin fish inside the cars. Otherwise, their little feet keep breaking off. Fancy that. Must be the wind.

Sharon B.,

"Where I live we keep our Darwin fish inside the cars. Otherwise, their little feet keep breaking off. Fancy that. Must be the wind."

It's a miracle!

Posted by Charles B on May 2, 2007 10:32 PM

Amen! brother.

Posted by Sharon B. on May 2, 2007 11:15 PM

Anyone inferring that conservatives are more likely to vandalize than liberals is living in a dreamland.
Hello Sharon

If taking the American people to war the way Bush did isn't grounds for impeachment, we need to amend the constitution so that it is.
