Iraq & Congress
Longmont CO 80501 303-651-6574
This clever usurpation of power would be a laugher if it had no deleterious effect on the success of our troops on the battlefield. But it does. This encroachment deserves a veto.
Congress has no business playing political shell-games in wartime: “Look, soldier, the money you need for reinforcements is under this shell; no, try again, oops, sorry!”
Standing calmly and proudly in the face of all this Democratic confusion and chicanery were Colorado’s Republican delegates to Congress: Sen.
Wayne Allard, Reps. Marilyn Musgrave, Doug Lamborn and Tom Tancredo. Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Con.) also deserves kudos for his courage.
In the U.S. Senate, only two spineless Republicans bought into the defeatist stratagem: Chuck Hagel of Nebraska and Gordon Smith of Oregon.
They, like the Democrats, apparently believe it is okay for Iraqi extremists to behead Americans and blow-up innocent people without retaliation. We’ll just walk away.
Colorado’s Democratic delegation to Congress: the once-moderate Sen. Ken Salazar; Reps. Mark Udall, John Salazar, Ed Perlmutter, Diana DeGette, all voted for America to surrender and come home beaten, her tail between her legs.
Honoring today’s far-left dicta is going to be difficult for Democrats like Udall to explain as he campaigns for the U.S. Senate. Recorded votes are hard to run away from.

And for those still in denial about the withdrawal timetable emboldening the enemy:
DUBAI (Reuters) - Al Qaeda's second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahri said a U.S. congressional bill calling for a troop withdrawal from Iraq was proof of Washington's defeat, according to a Web video posted on Saturday.Posted by KW on May 7, 2007 01:59 PM
KW
Let's post the piece you chose to leave out.
"This bill reflects American failure and frustration," he said. "However, this bill will deprive us of the opportunity to destroy the American forces which we have caught in a historic trap. We ask Allah that they only get out if it after losing 200,000 to 300,000 killed, in order that we give those who spill blood in Washington and Europe an unforgettable lesson which will motivate them to review their entire doctrinal and moral system which produced their historic criminal crusader-Zionist entity."
Why didn't you post the entire news piece? Oh, that's right because truth be told you and Percy support the terrorists.
Posted by conservative media on May 7, 2007 02:23 PMIt's called space saving C Moron. I providied the link (DUH!) so you could read it for yourself without creating a damn novel of post that most people will skip over.
Thanks for posting the rest. My favorite part (for those of you in denial that islamofacists want us dead) was this:
"However, this bill will deprive us of the opportunity to destroy the American forces which we have caught in a historic trap. We ask Allah that they only get out if it after losing 200,000 to 300,000 killed"
Considering we have only 3100 military deaths after 4 years his numbers are nothing more than scare tactics hoping cowardly Americans will endorse the plan as Zawahri does.
Being in denial is why you aren't able to glean Zawahri's comments for what they are, but the bottom line is he has been emboldened by the dems (public knowledge) withdrawal dates.
Posted by KW on May 7, 2007 03:06 PMKW - here's a news flash for you - the vast majority of "insurgents" LIVE IN IRAQ. They'll be able to wait us out whether we announce our withdrawal next week or in 2056. Meantime American men & women continue to die. The enemy's apparently already "emboldened," Einstein.
And why don't you tell a few of the mothers who have lost sons and daughters (in this futile adventure embarked on by a bunch of Republican chickenhawks) that "we only have 3100 military deaths."
You're very good at characterizing people who don't agree with this fiasco as "cowardly" - why don't you tell us how you've supported the war effort, you big, brave hero - stuck a "support our troops" bumper sticker on the back of your car?

Creating a damn novel? Some of your posts are longer than that news piece.
You left it out because you know you are a terrorist supporter.
Posted by conservative media on May 7, 2007 04:18 PMC Moron,"You left it out because you know you are a terrorist supporter."
Kerry,"you know, if you don't get an education, you'll end up in Iraq"
Crow,"If we would just use 3 squares a day"
I just can't decide which far left liberal can tell the best botched joke. Or the worst for that matter.
Posted by KW on May 7, 2007 04:40 PMSo the guy from Al Qiada says: ". . . destroy the American forces which we have caught in an historic trap/". And then goes on to speak of 200,000 to 300,000 he wants dead.
Now just for funzies, would someone tell me just what this "historic trap" is, in which they have "caught the American forces"?
Iraq has no army - or so little that it's not worth mentioning - and a navy that seems to be more a beached set of motor-boats than anything else, along with no air force, and such armament as is rusting out in the desert after the Gulf War.
Iran threatens with nuclear power; but some years ago, the Israelis flattened Iran's nuclear development in a sudden surprise strike. And should there be any ideas in anybody's mind about Iran ever trying to use nuclear weapons, the Israeli's are poised and ready to flatten the works again. While it does have something of an Air Force; and some leftover arms and armament from dealing with the old Soviet Union, its Army isn't in the field; and it is highly doubtful just what kind of army it can field that would stand up to American materiel. After all, Iraq and Iran fought each other to a standstill stalemate not all that long ago; and neither of them really did much damage to the other.in the process.
Saudi Arabia is going to put up . . . what?
And the various Emirates, etc., will provide . . . what else?
What "historic trap" is the guy talking about?
T'ain't a military one.
Oh. Yeah. The "historic trap" of occupying a territory, thousands of miles away, and populated by those who don't want to be occupied. That's it! It is, after all, more or less the record of some 1000 years or so now. Get the Americans to stick around, and kill them off in groups, and individually, by guerrilla actions and suicide bombers.
Are we really expected to be such damned fools as to fall for that?
But, Watch Out! The flying carpets are coming! And the great bronze horses, powered by the Djinn!
Boy! Howdy! What a pitiful and pathetic bunch the War-Is-Wonderful-and-Shooting-People-Is-Fun Party has calling the rest of us "cowardly" for not taking that kind of thing seriously.
Posted by Old Grouch on May 7, 2007 05:31 PMThanks for the whining, Percy. Your sniveling is duly noted and laughed at.

That would be you KW. Only let's replace the words far left liberal with right wing nut job.

On second thought this far right joke is the best.

Posted by conservative media on May 8, 2007 05:53 AMI have a slight correction to your tally of 3100 dead American soldiers.
Yesterday's death count was 3377. No big difference really -- it's just another 277 dead Americans.
Posted by Correction on May 8, 2007 08:27 AMPercy,
Your display of partisanship is one of the biggest problems confronting us now. It's called the "divide-and-conquer" strategy, and you and your patrons use it expertly. However, be advised, we are on to you. We know who you support. We know that the repubicans, and the democrats have been infiltrated by a de-facto foreign lobby called AIPAC and they are inculcating us with all of this "islamo-fascist are the enemy" B.S.
Step back. Put your partisanship aside. Now put on your glasses. Can you see you've been duped?
