Kings of the U.S.
Since Democrats won majoritities in the U.S. House and Senate, they act like they became kings of the United States!
This is evident in their arrogant proposal that would repeal a 2002 Senate vote that authorized U.S. military involvement in Iraq and replace it with a more stringent plan that includes removing troops from combat by March 2008. Wow! The enemy is jumping with joy.
The Dems have no plans to win! They claim they are doing the will of the people — not true! Not all of us.
Democrats are not the military nor the commander-in-chief and are weak on foreign policy. Attempting to repeal 2002 Senate approval authorizing military involvement in Iraq proves it!
Lorretta Carder, Denver
So the members of the military that agree with pulling the troops out... do they not exist? What is the Republican plan to win exactly? The will of the people means the will of the majority. There will never be a case when every single person agrees on something... it's not possible. The fact is that MOST Americans see the war as a complete failure.
Who is weak on foreign policy? The president who defied international law and succeeded only in the deaths of thousands and the creation of a civil war? Sound foreign policy for sure.
Posted by Kyle on May 1, 2007 03:47 PMI may not know what the Republican plan for Iraq is, but I know what Bush's plan is - keep doing the same thing until January 2009 and then it becomes the next guy"s, or gal"s, problem.
Posted by Sean on May 1, 2007 03:52 PMhow dare anybody assume they are king when we all know king george is in power.
Posted by on May 1, 2007 03:55 PMMy resources tell that there has been a confirmed siting of someone in Iraq jumping for joy. It's only logical to conclude it's "the enemy". It's further inescapeably logical to conclude that they're jumping for joy because the "democrats" in the U.S. did something. Wait, hold on. Now, my resources tell me the person in question is actually an 11-year-old girl, and she's jumping rope with her friends. Well, stay tuned. I'll keep you posted if we find another joy jumper somewhere in the land of the enemy.

"Since Democrats won majoritities in the U.S. House and Senate, they act like they became kings of the United States!"
Do you see the problem here? King(s) in the plural just doesn't make sense.
Do you know what a King is?
Why exactly should the congress refrain from carrying out the will of the people?
Or are you merely another Authoritarian Bush Cultist and want to go back to the Rapture inducing days of a solitary King of Fools?
Posted by on May 1, 2007 05:19 PMDo I sense a little self-deflection on the part of Lorretta? I think so...It's just a shame that May 1 @ 5:19 didn't put their name because you're on to something!
Posted by Welsh Dragon on May 1, 2007 06:12 PMOr should that be self-deception? The possibilities are endless...
Posted by Welsh Dragon on May 1, 2007 06:14 PMyawn same ole same ole.
I thought we already "won" - we got Saddam out, right? We toppled his government, right? We assured there aren't any WMDs, right? Mission was accomplished - right??
So what else is there to win? Oh, yeah - the oil.
People, make no mistake. This is a permanent occupation, but the Bushies don't dare acknowledge that to you.
Posted by mytwosense on May 2, 2007 07:49 AMI rarely look at this forum unless I actually get a letter published, which is fairly frequently. It amazes me how many kooks come out under the oover of night and anonymity. If you folks can't say anything substantive, how about just sitting quitely? Your emotional rants just expose you for what you are. Few facts. Little logic. No objectivity. I'm thinking you just like to hear yourselves type.

Posted by Keith on May 2, 2007 09:03 AMAnderson - I needed that - you're in rare form today! Too funny!
Posted by on May 2, 2007 09:09 AMKeith must have been asleep or had his head in the sand over the last six years...the reign of the most despicably corrupt RepubliCON congress ever. People are resigning from King George's administration fater than jackrabbits.
Posted by Beavis on May 2, 2007 10:28 AMLoretta, or anybody:
Please define "win" in this context. What is it going to take to "win" in Iraq? Heck, even Dubya has quit using that phrase lately...you might want to take note.
If we're going to stick around until it's a peaceful, functional Democracy we have a longish wait. Decades? Centuries?
War Supporters - are you willing to have us stay for decades? Would you say the same thing if a Democrat had started this?
Posted by Tim on May 2, 2007 10:29 AMLoretta: Access ask.com and type in Bushisms. If this does not convince you that Chris Rock's assessment of George W. Bush is not accurate, get back to me:
Chris is asked if a black man could be elected president of the United States. His reply was: It can't get worse; they elected a retard, didn't they?
Of course, the evangelicals elected a retard: They believe in a Jew transmogrified into a Christian god and the Jew became anti-Semitic. Hey! I'm an equal opportunity deicide: All gods are created by humans. Allah can create all the virgins without menses, stools and urine he so desires. The "retard" may want to convert.
Ah! Dinty,
That's the fun and joy of an open forum. The readers get to write.
And they also get the opportunity - at least sometimes - to deflate some of the swelled heads who think their published letters are the "only expression" of . . . whatever it might be they express.
Is that why you say you don't read this forum?
Posted by Old Grouch on May 2, 2007 10:42 AMHey beavis, who taught you,was it butthead?
