Rocky misses chance to honor fallen officers
Someone please tell me that the article about the memorial ceremony for fallen Colorado peace officers wasn’t really buried on Page 17 of the May 5 Rocky Mountain News (“3 officers' names added to memorial”).
Assist me in understanding why no photos accompanied the article — considering that there were several hundred officers and numerous government officials and broadcast media in attendance — and why it was relegated to a mere four column inches.
Help me to fathom why other news — with photos — of the Kentucky Derby, Boulder Humane Society, graffiti, and Trail Ridge Road rank higher in priority than the lives of local law enforcement officers killed in 2006. Even a two-page, full-color ad for furniture and an article on tainted chickens was deemed more important than the line-of-duty deaths of these public servants.
The Rocky missed a sterling chance to highlight an event that annually memorializes Colorado’s lost police officers. Why?

Sanctuary States telling the Fed's to take a hike for example.
The liberal media does not want to feature law officers and their sacrifices. They just want to feature the fluff . I guess they think it makes them look "Big town"! The officers memorial deserved front page!!! What a shame!!!

To our friendly hall monitor; how about posting an easy to find link on the web page to let posters know what is considered acceptable to the Snews.
It's obvious the "filters" are set to discourage criticism of the News pro-illegal alien policy. I show as much respect for illegal aliens and Mexicans in particular as they do for our country by referring to their non-holiday as Stinko de Drinko, Cinco de Stinko, or Cinco de Drinko. They show no respect for us; why should I show respect for them? Respect is earned, not demanded and the illegals do nothing but demand as they decimate.
The News is happy to allow sarcastic criticism of our idiot president by calling him names; but they edit posts where the same amount of disrespect is shown towards the pro-illegal alien Salazar brothers in Congress.
It would be nice if Temple actually ran a fair and unbiased paper as humanly possible.
