Satan made her day
I just want to thank the Rocky Mountain News for its front page photo and accompanying story of May 8, “Grandma, Satan’s in the wall.”
I’m sure the Rocky will get lots of comments from folks who think that it “shouldn’t waste space on animals when there are so many problems in the world, and aren’t people more important than animals?” My take is that there’s plenty of time (and space in the paper) to get the bad news. It’s nice to get some good news. The Rocky’s photo and story started my day with a smile, and I appreciate that.

Posted by JoJo on May 19, 2007 09:17 AMI love cats; I love dogs; I love animals; I can't say this about humans. Humans create gods that create swamps of repression. Me, your friendly deicide.

Hey, Mr. Grimes! That's 3 out of 4 you've got me agreeing with. We're both going to end up ruining our reputations if this keeps up.
Posted by Old Grouch on May 19, 2007 12:33 PMRichard and Grouch, just your friendly atheist and cat lover dropping in to say hi , i guess i missed the paper that day can anyone inform me on what satan had to do with a cat?
hoimaha,
Satan is the name of the cat. Seems as if it disappeared during some kind of reconstruction, or remodeling work being done in the house. The family - especially, if memory serves, the child - were devastated; and went all over the country side searching, and posting "Lost Animal" notices, etc.
About 3 weeks went by, when a noise was heard, coming from the area in which the remodeling had been done. Seems as if the cat had crawled into the wall space; and the hole had been wall-boarded, or plastered, over. They opened the wall; and out came the cat. Joy and rejoicing for all.
Cute human interest story - first off on Channel 9, if memory serves, with RMN following up. Cat and family all now doing well.
Welcome aboard. Hope you have a good day.
Posted by Old Grouch on May 19, 2007 02:18 PMYo Old Grouch: We have to stop meeting this way; believers in superstitous nonsense are going to talk, libel, and slander us. I'd rather meet with Sharon. Your friendly deicide. See what you can do at keeping the ignoramous at bay.
