Starved boy
Thursday, May 24 at 11:29 AM

Leroy M. Martinez of Denver writes:

Police stopped Chandler’s biological mother and notice a very thin boy. Ask when the last time they ate and got an answer of three days. Grandmother complained and school complained. Now everyone states that something should have been done sooner.
People blame everything on someone else. I say that the problem starts at home and more people should be involved in the care of family members. No a man states of being his biological father has come up. Where were these people before his death.

I can't believe the Rocky continues to print letters by people so obviously uninformed. Where was the family?!?!? The grandmother had made multiple inquiries with police and social workers about her grandson. Other grandmother and father who left the military to search for the boy had filed police reports b/c the mother had disappeared right after the birth of the boy. The teachers warned officials. The people who had the power to remove the boy from the mother's ex-boyfriend and father of her second child did nothing to remove Chandler from this environment. This abusive family was allowed to "escape" Jeff Co jurisdiction because of poor oversight.
Mr. Martinez, try reading all the information before crafting such a ridiculous and incoherent letter.

It takes a village to raise(or recognize an abused) a child.

I have read all the facts and still ask where were the people that could help? Schools, Policemen and Family. They all say they tried to do something yet a child is dead.

Facts? What facts? Most of the records are sealed.... and this all seems very fishy, I suspect that we will all learn a great deal more when the records open up.

As of now, all we really know is what the maternal-grandmother and biological mother have said...take a look people, talk about media-whoring yourself out -- these two take the cake. And please, it's not like either are great upstanding citizens. Please, these kids were frail and emaciated before the got into the hands of the two who were arrested.

There is something very bizarre with this story, maybe if people were paying attention they would notice that.
