The other conquistadors
Thursday, May 17 at 12:01 AM

Regarding the recent letter from teacher Stephanie Rossi about what the Spanish conquistadors did to Native Americans (“Little to champion about conquistadors”), I have just one question: Who put Native Americans onto reservations and took away their land?

Erminda Martinez, Denver

5:56,

The people of whom you speak are DEAD!

How dare you even impicate that wanting to control our borders is comparable to genicide!

Hey, you might be on to something...if we blame dead people for everything, then no one is to blame...so, which dead dude didn't pay my mortgage this month?

5:56 sounds like a spokesman for NAMBLA.

Is that the best you got? Pathetic attempt.

That was an ERROR on my part. My apologies.

Erminda Martinez thinks she asks a poignant question which, of course, is rhetorical. If she is a Spaniard it is not rhetorical because she is not blaming herself since it is Spain that financed Columbus' expedition whose godly cruelty commenced the extermination and the reservation for the Indian. If she is Mexican, she occuppied the Indian's land in America's southwest stolen from Mexico by America.

The Spaniards ecstasy in its Inquisition and its treatment of Jews comported with Hitler's treatment of them. If Erminda claims Spanish heritage, she is responsible for the torture of millions of women for the impossible crime of witchcraft; if she is Mexican, the crime of Mexican on Mexican is her legacy.

Whether she is Spaniard or Mexican she is resonsible for taking the Indian's land and putting them on reservations because her blood started it all.

Hey! I had a poor choice in parents: Dad is Irish; mom is Hispanic. Me, RG, your friendly deicide.

Amazing, toally amazing. When people codemn caucasions, it is great but faced with the reality that Spaniards did the same, the part is ignored. Thank you for again showing a very selective study of history.

"the same people who are cowards in sending all the illigals back to where they came from."

At least you admit they didn't come from here.

What is a deicide. It doesn't sound friendly.

Yo MTA: I have hesitated answer to your query because you could go to dictionary.com; however, I'll oblige you:

I slay all gods except mine. My god, She, is unslayable as She does the slaying through Her inevitable law. Now you will ask: What is Her inevitable law? I answer: It is change. The inevitable law of my god, Mother Nature, who conceives and gives life to all life forms, is change. The biblical god says: "I am what I am," kind of like Popeye and goes on to say, "I change not."

I could tell you what other man-made gods say; however, it is not within the scope of this acknowledgment of your query. Me, your friendly deicide chosen to kill all gods and there is no penalty because all gods are fiction except mine.

I guess dictionary.com would not tell you all that. I am intelligent enough to be an atheist but lack the courage so I become a deicide. Touch basis with me and I'll enlighten you on this god business which is simply a recycling of the first god created when the first knave met the first fool way back when man is imbued with the ability to reason and he abandons it.
