Time for president’s game of ‘Risk’ to end
Thursday, May 3 at 12:01 AM

I cannot forget that the Iraq war is based on lies. It is not even in dispute anymore. The messy details are going to come out and probably sooner rather than later. What side of this horror do you want to be on?
The death toll is mounting dramatically, and the problems in Afghanistan (where we should have concentrated our efforts) are getting scarier. We are wasting (yes, wasting) our precious and very necessary and important soldiers and Marines. Not to mention the mountains of money being sucked up by Bush’s crony- led corporations.
We toppled Saddam and elections have been held — our job is done. It’s time to bring our troops home and let them rest and re-equip, especially if you believe that the terrorists may follow us home. This administration has done more to make us vulnerable than we should have allowed and it is time to put some grown-ups in charge and end President Bush’s game of Risk.

Amen to that, Mary! Great Letter!

Ok lets do it and when it starts to happen here on our home front again, remember 9/11, dont complain about the lack of protection you receive.

I wouldn't put a name on that post at 7:40 either. It's so stupid that you would not want anyone to hang it on you.

Posted by Corky on May 3, 2007 08:11 AM

remember that 9/11 had nothing to do with Iraq.

Mary is right...the Pres is a liar. I'll never forget the President going on national TV to say that the US and Britain were gonna attack "Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its capbilty to threaten its neighbors." He said we needed to do this NOW to "protect the national interests of the US and people throughout the Middle East." The date was 12/16/98...the lying president was Bubba Clinton. OPERATION DESERT FOX wasted 415 cruise missiles ($1, 500,000 each) and killed a janitor in Iraq and an asprin factory in the Sudan. Of course, this operation was just 4 days before Clinton's impeachment for felony perjury got under way. P.S. Hillary had the same intell her beloved husband had.

You know that. I know that. And, most of the rest of America knows it as well. But . . . !

In the absence of anything even remotely resembling a plan to actually extricate the Country from the Iraq mess, the Ruling-Class party finds it to be the best available red herring. Blaming Al Qaeda for Iraq, along with anything and everything else, is a way to let things just go on as they are; and after stagnating for the rest of Bush's term, shove it all off on whoever comes in next.

Which, all else considered, is about as much of a "plan" as Bush has ever come up with from the beginning. Got to give credit where credit is due.

post above, all you opinions are base on lies. You just can 't teach facts to idiots like yourselves.Lossssssssssssssserrrrsssssss.

"remember that 9/11 had nothing to do with Iraq."

Remember, large scale global events are almost always linked together with an easily discernible cause and effect pattern, with no more than one event influencing any other. In fact, using that knowledge, we can predict the future.

Posted by on May 3, 2007 09:43 AM

For god sakes. You people are like a broken record. Do you understand the definition of lie? Look it up, OK? Even if mistakes were made, and I agree they were, that does not constitute a "lie". Were we given misinformation with the intent to deceive? I don't think so. And if that is the case, then there were many prominent Democrats saying the same thing.

Posted by Dinty on May 3, 2007 09:55 AM

actually it was intent to deceive. How else do you explain why this war has gone on so long? There are two explanations so far. 1. This war was started to defeat terrorism (If that's the case, you don't have much faith in the military if you don't think our forces can crush this opposition in a matter of weeks). Or 2. This war started for oil (If that's the case, it would explain why our occupation is continued because we don't get any profits of the oil if we are not there to govern it).

Posted by on May 3, 2007 10:03 AM

So, without any facts, you just fill in the blanks? Ergo, it was intent to deceive? "How else do you explain?" You lack any degree of logic, and that's what scares me about you Liberal kooks.

Posted by Dinty on May 3, 2007 10:17 AM

You know what the scariest thing is? It's the fact you know nothing about me or what I believe in, but because I disagree with you, all of a sudden I'm a liberal kook. Is liberal kook a term you use for anybody who wants people to take responsibility for themselves? Since you haven't been paying attention to anything to gather facts from, I will clue you in. Before the war, it was about WMD's, when the war started it was about Saddam, when commander cookoo bananas declared mission accomplished it was about liberating Iraq, now it's about what? The fact that you cannot hold a stand on anything and finish one job before starting another just shows that you are without resolve and simply want to shove this idea about how you were right all along down people's throats. So yes, I just filled in the blanks, meaning the bulk of deception was alredy well established, and since none of you supporters can open your own eyes and see what's going on, I decided to help you. Is my lack of logic based on the fact that I choose not to ignore the deaths of our military and civilians of another country we should not have invaded? Or is it because I listened to what I heard about the reasons to go to war change as often as minutes tick by? You lack any degree of value of other peoples voices or opinions and simply resort to calling people names when you know your doing the wrong thing, but are just too stubborn to fess up to it. But I guess that makes us even.

A typical emotional rant when you are challenged on facts and logic. Lots of volume, but little logic.

I guess the webmaster really liked my response to post it twice.

I would make an informed reply, but I have to run off and pray to my chimpy master and thank him for the blood he sheds for me.

So, not only do you kooks hide under cover of darkness and anonymity, you also steal forum identities. I guess that pretty much makes this venue bogus. It's all yours. Se ya.

Posted by Dinty on May 3, 2007 11:24 AM

OK bye!

Posted by Drew on May 3, 2007 11:37 AM

my typical emotional response? Oh you mean talking about what's really going on instead of being told what's going on? Yes that is rather typical of me and all others who simply want people like your fearless leader to take responsibility and stop covering up to save our own butts.

Keith - do the shakes from the moonshine make you keep hitting the Post button twice?

Posted by Drew on May 3, 2007 12:52 PM

Keith is a fruit cake, fact.
Keith is a gutless blowhart who talks to much sh**, fact. If Keith where to ever speak to a real man the way he bangs away at his keyboard (his 2' dingdong too) then he would be cleaning his teeth up off of the ground, fact. Right wing nutjobs (Keith, FACT) are the real cowards, you can sit back and talk all of the hardcore junk you want but when it comes time to step up to the plate you sit down and let the real men handle business, fact!

By writing a letter to their political science professor?

Posted by on May 3, 2007 02:57 PM

By going to war in this country and abroad.... Who do you think fighting the war? Not conservative elitists.... It's the underprivleged, brave dems (ie, Pat Tillman) and the right wing trailor trash. Holla at ya boi!

Posted by J-Mac on May 3, 2007 03:11 PM

"and the right wing trailor trash"

Sure glad that college education taught you to spell, we have nothing to fear with intellectuals like you leading the front.

Posted by on May 3, 2007 03:14 PM

J-Mac
Your stating that people on the right are cowards is idiotic ,like most of your posts.
Our military forces vote OVERWHELMING REPUBLICAN . Are you are saying our brave soliders are cowards?

Posted by on May 3, 2007 04:10 PM

And who counts these votes?

Posted by on May 3, 2007 04:12 PM

I rest my case. You folks ARE kooks. Look at the string, and tell me how intellectual, logical, and objective you are. I think some of you may even be multibple identities having conversations with yourselves. I guess this forum could be theraputic, and cheaper than the real thing. But, you're just ruining the whole thing for people with legitimate issues to discuss.

Posted by Dinty on May 4, 2007 08:34 AM

I do see it. What I see is legitimate concerns about what is going, and getting refuted with "you're just a bunch of emotional liberals".

Posted by on May 4, 2007 08:50 AM

Oop, sorry, emotional liberal kooks.

Posted by on May 4, 2007 08:51 AM

Dinty,

Unfortunately, you are so very right. The discussion of legitimate issues has become difficult - to say the least - here. But, sometimes that's the price one has to pay for legitimate issues to see the light of day, and get into the marketplace of ideas, at all.

Except on occasion, I try to igore most of the trash posting, since there are those on every line who do debate, and do present ideas and relevant facts. It just costs a little extra time scrolling down beyond the ones who keep clicking on the "Post" icon till they have repeated their nonsense over and over again.

But even with that, the kooks are what manage to make the whole forum fun. As well as demonstrating the reality of what "free speech" means - even the worst of others rant allowable always.

Don't give up. You'll find places for good debate here as well.

Posted by Old Grouch on May 4, 2007 10:14 AM

Then perhaps ditty should try debating instead of the usual "you are kooks, I am done".
