Virginia Tech & Arapahoe Community College
Tuesday, May 1 at 10:43 AM

Dave Petteys of Roxborough Park writes:

The Arapahoe Community College response to the VA Tech shootings was a circular e-mail by a female PhD urging everyone to extend their condolences and empathy to those who had lost loved ones: certainly appropriate. But then she listed all the counseling services that were available: NOT ONE WORD or concern was expressed about any additional security measures to protect the students or faculty at the school! Excuse me! Even if I find a couch to talk things through and feel better, that will do nothing for me if a shooter walks into a classroom and starts firing! In a response I told her so! I was immediately accused of being “angry” and “insensitive"! Oh dear!
Yes I’m “angry", because so many lives are being lost NEEDLESSLY owing to this feminist precept that if we just disarm all the law abiding faculty and students, and turn the school into a “killer safe gun-free zone", everyone will be protected! And yes, I am “insensitive” because my primary concern is additional security instead of having candle light vigils, holding hands and singing “Kum-Ba-Yah!”
One of the things I notice about ACC, a public sector institution, is that the leadership is by and large all women! The more women, the more politically correct, I suppose. But the institution seems to have lost the balance between the masculine and feminine.
A bumper sticker on a car in a Dean’s parking space was an angry feminist slogan snarling against “The Patriarchy". It pretty much sets the tone for the whole school.
Their job advertisement circulars should read, “Men with testacles need not apply!”
