Sex ed & family planning
Under the REAL Act, the US Congress could set up the first-ever federal funding stream for the purpose of conducting comprehensive sex education programs. The education would be: evidence-based, medically accurate, age appropriate, and broad, providing full information about multiple topics, including both abstinence and contraception.
The GDP Act would prohibit the denial of US funds to overseas groups based on the medical services they provide. It would remove restrictions on funding for voluntary family planning programs, and would help to moderate population growth, reduce poverty, and ease environmental pressures.
Senator Salazar’s constituents that support comprehensive sex education and worldwide access to voluntary family planning services should urge him to co-sponsor the REAL Act and to support the Global Democracy Promotion Act.

Joe, I appreciate what you're trying to do, and I hope that you are successful in your efforts, but I have to believe this is never going to happen. Phrases like "evidence-based" and "medically accurate" scare off all the Repug wingnuts who would prefer everybody to remain as ignorant as possible. As soon as the right wing hitmen get word that somebody is trying to educate people, they will quash you like a bug.
If there's one thing that seems to piss a lot of people off, it's those of us who want our children to be well educated on non-biblical facts.

First, it doesn't promote fetuses and second, right-wingers are petrified of anything that mentions "SEX," even if 'education" is part of it.

There is no way the Repugnant Party will allow this to happen because it might allow two unmarried individuals to enjoy consensual sex in a safe manner and it is better that the couple is exposed to STDs and unwanted pregnancies than promote something that could be perceived to encourage sex outside of marriage.
