A greater loss
With all the hoopla of interviews with Princess Diana’s sons and the celebration of her life with a rock concert, have we lost sight of what was the truly good and important light that was extinguished the same week as Diana? She went by the name Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
Paul David Morell, Greeley
True, Mother Teresa was a wonderful woman who spent her life doing good deeds; however, she died at 87, after a long full life, while Princess Diana was 36, just beginning her good works, & left 2 young sons. I think many of us feel worse when a younger person dies tragically (in fact, I feel worse about Jon Benet Ramsey than Princess Diana - Jon Benet had basically no chance at life at all) - it is no disrespect to Mother Teresa - it is a sadness for what might have been.

The grossly excessive attention paid to both Jon Benet and Diana is disgusting. It was not intended to honor them but instead to honor the public's addiction to crime and violence. How about more attention to the babies dying in Darfur, to say nothing about the children dying in Iraq? Diana was devoted to such children; my feeling is that she would much prefer to see that.
Posted by Truth on July 4, 2007 07:09 AMAs to Mother Teresa, Jesus said that "the poor will always be among us". He didn`t say "landmines will always be among us."
Diana fought to remove the landmines countries armies leave behind.
They both deserve credit. Don`t compare them to each other.

Don't you dare use that tone of voice to me, you young whipper snapper. I've have you know that I walked five miles to school in the snow, and it was uphill both ways. Now go blow your nose.
