A TABOR victim
Let’s be clear about the search- and-rescue fees being charged tourists who do everything right and still get injured or lost: this is a direct result of the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (“$5,000 rescue fee rekindles debate,” June 18).
Previously, there was state money available to help support these crews. Smaller government results in fewer services, even those that save lives, promote tourism and enrich our economy.

What a moronic comment. TABOR has been suspended. This Government is receiving a windfall in additional tax revenue. In fact, it is exceeding the most conservative pre-election estimates.
Dona, I would suggest you look to the state legislature and determine where the money is being spent and stop playing a blame game.
oh to bad dona but your buddy far left liberal we love and will take care of all of you, democrats suspended the Tabor act years ago and have a windfall profit it from it and use it for their pet little projects to get reelected. they are proving that there is not a tax increase that they dont like and search and rescue is not on their list for funding.
If it was they might use some of the extra money they stole but I wouldnt hold my breath
