Bush administration
The performance of the rest of this Congress, in contrast, has been sorely disappointing. No better should be expected from the Republicans of this Congress since most are not even embarrassed or shamed by a president of their party who has single-handedly, and with malice aforethought , bequeathed this nation and its riches to his leech-like friends, and punched holes in the belly of this nation through which he and they are sucking the juices of democracy.
We who voted for Democratic candidates in the 2006 Congressional election can only wonder what happened to their resolve; if they are afraid to face down the president to end the war in Iraq - or failing that, to impeach him - how would a Democratic administration ever deal with terrorists or malevolent despots? Indeed, how would one ever get elected?
Most Americans would rather see this Congress deal with President Bush now than to concentrate on being elected in 2008. Otherwise, there may be little opportunity to accomplish the latter.

Can we impeach Roosevelt retroactively? He was in there for 3 terms but it took Harry Truman to finally end WW II.

3 terms to end a war that lasted 4 years?
Posted by hank's no genius on July 30, 2007 05:38 PMif you voted for the dumocrats they you got what you voted for. nothing but hot air. how many elections have they said they were going to fix this or that and its still broke?
Posted by on July 30, 2007 06:00 PMit doesnt matter at all who is in office ( democrat or republican ) both are treasonist scum who will NEVER follow through with what they tell the people.

Yes indeed, we had 8 years of peace and prosperity under President Clinton.Plus record surpluses. We like that quality in our leaders.
Under Reagan a drunken sailor spending spree that resulted in a trillion $ deficit.
Under Dubya, the trillion $ deficit looks like a bargain, (and still counting).
Also, the bush league has the added bonus of pissing off countries with nuclear (or is that nooculer?) weapons.
We "dumocrats" herebydemand an apology from every idiot that voted for the bush league
Posted by dmz on July 30, 2007 07:41 PMThe Democrats have only been in office for a little over six months. They only have a razor-thin majority and cannot overcome Republican filibusters. Furthermore, the president has threatened to veto 9 out of 12 major bills under consideration.
It is going to take a LOT longer than 6 months to fix what Republicans have screwed up over the last 6 years.
At least give the Democrats a chance to start repairing the damage before you begin bashing them.
If you're "lucky," then the Democrats will fail miserably -- and you can point your finger and laugh, shouting to everyone who will listen how the Democrats have "ruined" the country and got us into an unwinnable war.
There are a lot of uniformed fools out there who will believe you and will vote Republican next election.
By the way, who is the current Republican frontrunner for president? The election is coming up fast.
W thinks so little of the American people and the Constitution that he doesn't even care to tell the truth to us. Even now several senior Republican Senators are calling for Bush to change his Iraq strategy....falling on deaf ears at the White House. The Persident's scare tactics have become a joke, his Iraq surge a failure, and his legacy one of anger, despair, and strife not only here in America but worldwide.

And do enlighten us on what the Republicans have screwed up over the last 6 years. Typical liberal spewing out mindless statements with no facts. The Democrats ruined this country in the 40 years prior to 1994.
Down With, etc.,
Perhaps you might go to the heading, "Republican Party has strayed from its roots", where the poster, "Trinity", on July 30th @ 6:25 PM has listed a number of factual instances of Republican screw ups; screw ups both presently in place, and even worse screw ups potentially yet to come.
And that doesn't even begin to cover the area.
Posted by Old Grouch on July 31, 2007 12:49 PMGrouch, once again tell me what else it doesn't even begin to cover. A bad Republican is 10 times better than the best Democrat.
