Bush administration
Leroy Quet
But the thing is, it is THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION ITSELF that has CAUSED, in the first place, the very problems that Americans want Congress to address!
I doubt many Americans want Congress to just let Bush and friends get away completely with their illegal activities. Should the White House be REWARDED for messing up our country and the world by having Bush Admn officials’ wrong-doing uninvestigated simply because Congress is too busy fixing the problems caused by the Bush Admn itself??
That would defy all sense of justice.
This letter has not been edited.
We the American people are fed up with Bush for focusing on concealing his Administration’s wrong-doing instead of the problems facing America, and not just helping corparate welfare and his cronies!
Everything the Bushies say is doublespeak and lies.
They say it would be a disaster if we leave Iraq. Yes, it will be. It already is a disaster.
The disaster began when Bush/Rove/Cheney lied to Congress and the American people to take us there in the first place.
They pretend to be brave. Bravely walking off a cliff and taking Western Civilization into quicksand is criminal.
Job one for Congress and the American People is to call the Bushies to account for the incalculable damage they've done, for war profiteering, and for subverting the Constitution.
The core of the problem is Neocon Republicanism, and they need to be brought to heel. They are traitors and a bigger danger to our way of life than the "Commies" ever were.
The biggest danger is public apathy - 188 million prescriptions for anti-depressants isn't helping. We may lose our Democratic system because too many people are just tuning out the bad news.
Call your elected officials. Raise HELL. The White House needs to be fumigated, and Bush, Rove, Cheney, et al need to be put where they belong, behind bars.
Posted by Adam on July 31, 2007 02:33 PMDefend the Constitution now, or defend your freedom and your lives very soon. Global fascism will destroy this nation soon, unless the people are fed up enough to get their @sses off the couch and demand something better. Our republic demands participation from the people. Without it, what they give is what you got, and that isn't much. Do not vote for the lesser of 2 evils. Shake the world, vote for The Constitutionalist, Dr. Ron Paul.
Posted by Jay on July 31, 2007 02:49 PMOf course the administration is claiming that Congress is wasting their time investigating the White House -- they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and lying about it! What do you expect them to say?
But, they are right that all of the "investigating" is a waste of time when Congress SHOULD be trying to straighten out the mess this country is in. The revelations about corruption of power and political influence selling, etc, are coming out via the press and administration insiders who are afraid some of the flying dark stuff is going to hit them.
Every wannabe investigative reporter is scouring Washington for any and all dirt that can be found for that elusive Pulitzer. The reporters are going to uncover a lot more malfeasance and dirt than high posturing congressional committees will.
The Bush administration shot themselves in the foot (and the American public in the head) and it's rapidly coming to light. Let's not repeat the expensive and time consuming fiasco that was implemented against Clinton and his White House BJ and subsequent denial. The only thing that came from that folly was the Republicans being able to say "gotcha". The only thing that will come from the Democrats "investigating" the obvious with Bush is that they'll be able to say "gotcha". It'll be the same waste of time and money that took place with Clinton's inquisition.
