Bush/Cheney administration
Friday, July 20 at 2:00 PM

Cathy Cloepfil of Erie writes:

Whew! It’s going to take a mighty big blast of democratic fresh air to remove the stench emanating from the United States government, the purposeful byproduct of the Bush/Cheney administration. Not one institution has been untouched by its fetid Republican presence - from the military’s coverups on Tillman, Lynch, Abu Ghraib, to the Justice Department, FEMA, FBI, even down to the Surgeon General.
Every day the senses are assaulted by new emissions of corruption and politicizing that seep out through the cracks of media and citizenry indifference.
Where’s that air freshener - the one labeled IMPEACHMENT?

Good luck, Bush still has the power to cancel the 2008 elections if he sees fit...i wouldn't put it past those guys to come up with some kind of reason to do so if its looking bad for Gooliani...
Impeachment would be nice, though bush would probably do some kind of signing statement or evoke executive privilege and get out of it, besides, the congress are too cowardly to do anything close to impeachment...

According to Republicans, the only impeachable crime is sex that falls outside the traditional bounds. Bush falls into the Puritan model of sex, which is all sex is bad. Cheney can't have sex because he will have a heart attack. So impeachment is pretty much off the table.

Roy nails it: W. Bush has already created law he signed to thrust him into dictatorship predicated on a catastrophe he designs. It is a scary time for America.

You people are STUPID.
18 months and there will be an election, and a new president and administration. In case you forgot that is how it works in the U.S. of A.

In case you forgot Presidient Bush won the last election easily. By winning the last two elections he did something your prophet Clinton NEVER did - that is he won over 50% of the vote. Clinton never did.
So grow up - we get another chance for a continuation of the sleeziest regim ever in the White House --- The Clintons.

"So grow up - we get another chance for a continuation of the sleeziest regim ever in the White House --- The Clintons."

Yeah, all that peace and prosperity really sucked. Thank God Bush came along and made things so much better.

P.S. You misspelled "sleaziest," but you did so in kind of a cool way. It looks like a band name or something: For one night only at Red Rocks - Sleeziest Regim! Get your tickets now!

LOLOLOLOLOLOLO ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good grief you libs are ignorant!

Posted by on July 20, 2007 06:47 PM

Bill, I usually do not point out the misspellings of others, we all make mistakes; except when they call others stupid, dumb, etc., and especially when they do it in ALL CAPS!
So let the list begin. You misspelled President, sleaziest and regime.
You ever see that movie "Billy Madison" with Adam Sandler where he repeats K through 12th grade? I suggest you do that and you not only will improve your spelling, but also your civic knowledge . You will become a more informed voter and will probably view the Republican Party with utter disgust and disdain once you realize that they are in power for the sake of being in power.
However, you are right in one respect, there will be a new President and Congress soon, but they will not be Republican controlled.

The way you rabid BDS sufferers ,and your liberal friends in the media, have been on a Bush witch hunt since day one ,and the fact that he is still in office ,proves Bush has done nothing even close to impeachable.

BTW- Cathy better get fitted for her burka and all the rights that come with it.

It looks as though Get Real was blinded by the right, has wrapped himself up in the flag and is far removed from reality. Oh well, no matter how strongly he feels the GOP is doomed, doomed, doomed!!! Ha-ha-ha-ha. And it is all the fault of the man-child Bush. At least the last six years of his Presidency has accomplished that much.

Circular stupidity...

Poor Bush, every night after he says his prayers I bet he wishes the election was tomorrow.

So much more can go wrong in the next 500 and some days. So many more brothel lists might be made public. The leaders (ha) in Iraq and Afghanistan may both ask us to leave.

Another natural disaster, another dozen or so car bombs in Iraq, maybe an attack on the green zone.

Being President isn`t any fun anymore. Just look at his sad, confused, stubborn little face. Right up there on the wall with the darts in it.

We're still trying to get rid of the Clinton stench. As far as damaging the USA, Bush is nothing compared to Bubba.

watch out libs teddy has offered to drive all of the top liberal left wantabes to the convention in denver.

I really enjoy all of you extreme far left socialist liberal dems getting so worked up over Bush. You sang with joy when all the libs took over congress and now you hate tnem as they are doing just what they always do and that is nothing. I did enjoy there all nighter to prove they can do nothing but look good to all of you liberal sheep.

Posted by on July 21, 2007 08:21 AM

Hey Clyde, the Clinton stench of sex is far less offensive than the appalling stench of the thousands of unnecessarily dead in Iraq.

"The Vagaries of Religious Experience Edge, 2005 President Bush said, “God told me to strike at al Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did,” most Americans were not alarmed to learn that their leader was receiving orders that no one else could hear. America is an unusually religious nation, but even in the world’s least religious nations the majority of people claim to believe in God.

"God told me to strike at al Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem of the Middle East . Should be real interesting when the Dems control everything after the 2008 elections. Watch your wallets!

After 4 years of them running everything and the public can see what they really want to do for this country, what will we do then?

As tough as it might be to watch and experience this for myself, an independent who usually votes conservative, if the GOP can get their act together this scenario might be the best thing that ever happens to them.

But, I'm not holding my breath that the GOP can get its' act together. Might be time for a real 3rd party challenge in 2012.

Posted by RU Serious on July 21, 2007 01:51 PM

Right now my wallet is crying "big time," remember who said that over the war expenses while our country's needs go unmet.

RU Serious, would you rather fund this insane war or some decent roads, bridges etc.

Do you feel the pain of the money going into that waste land in Iraq where every day millions of dollars worth of your and my money goes up in smoke.

If the money thing is your only complaint against Democrats, try not being so materialistic for a change. What don`t you like about a party that wants to keep our funds at home?

Posted by Sharon B. on July 21, 2007 03:55 PM

As a liberal Democrat I can not wait to get another honest Clinton administration. The Bush administration was so dishonest they went to court and said the Second Amendment was an individual right for the people to keep and bear arms. The Clinton administration went to court and said there is no right of the people to own firearms. Now that is honest.Because we Democrats are honest we do not mind telling the people we just do not trust you with your guns or money.

Posted by True on July 21, 2007 04:30 PM

"What don`t you like about a party that wants to keep our funds at home?"

I'd love to keep my funds at home. Problem is that the Dems will try to expand their income redistribution plans. Beginning with increasing taxes.

You know that I'm "so materialistic" how? I just think that the majority of the fruits of my own labor should be mine, not "ours." The government should not increase the size of the hand that is reaching into my pocket for more and more money to fund its' social experiments.

I'm not against funding infrastructure but most often, this is a state issue. Yes, we need federal funds for big projects. Seems to me that they are still managing to get built.

I will agree that waging war is very expensive and surely there is a lot of wasted money in any endeavor that large, especially if our government is involved. I personally, haven't felt any more financial pain due to the war than I did before it. Not sure that is a good thing, as we are most likely financing it on a giant credit card issued by the likes of the Chinese.

My point is that I believe that when the Dems win the white house in 2008 we will see all kinds of typical liberal ideas get translated into policy, like increased regulation of business and industry, leading to our economy being less competitive than it was before.

Things like Hillary stating a few months back that she would like to confiscate profits of the oil companies. Think gas prices are high now?

Things like price controls, which have proven in the past to not work.

When they lay out their cards on the table and enact these policies we will find out how popular they will be. We shall see, I suppose.

Posted by RU Serious on July 21, 2007 05:39 PM

So you look into your crystal ball and see lots of money spent on liberal ideas and that alone is enough to keep the Iraq war going?.

That materialistic dig was a snide remark but in truth we don`t know half the time where our tax money goes after it leaves us.

Any president has funds that we don`t even know about, that is how the CIA and other covert operations can always have funds.

Screw the cost, lets end this war and use the money to build up America First.

Free lunch

There was a Chemistry professor in a large college that had some
Exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the
Prof noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back
And stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student
Told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while
Fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his
country's government and install a new communist government.

In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a
Strange question.

He asked, " Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.
The young man said this was no joke.

"You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and
Putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to
Eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a
Fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they
Get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up
Another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again.
You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in
The last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come
Through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and
Around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to
Eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how
To forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.

The young man told the professor that that is exactly what he sees
Happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward
Communism/socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of
Programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income,
Tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP),
Welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. While we continually lose our freedoms- just
A little at a time.

(One should always remember "There is no such thing as a free
Lunch"; and "You can never hire someone to provide a service for you
Cheaper than you can do it yourself.)

If you also see all of the government "help" as a problem for the
Future of democracy in America, please send it on.

And remember which political party has been pushing the "free lunch"
Programs on you for decades now....
