Executive privilege
Monday, July 16 at 1:59 PM

Brian Stuckey of Denver writes:

President Bush is fully justified in invoking executive privilege. In view of the Congressional charade that we have witnessed recently, it is hardly any wonder that public approval of Congress has dropped to a mere 23 percent. The fact that our nation is at war is of little consequence to the Democrats, whose primary aim is to discredit the Bush administration at whatever cost to our national security. The entire episode is a case in point!

"President Bush is fully justified in invoking executive privilege. "

You tell us this, but don't apparently have the brains to back it up with an actual argument.

"Steno" Stuckey strikes again!

"Steno" Stuckey said "... our nation is at war "

Really, which nation did we declare war on?
Can we expect war bonds and wartime taxes and wartime rationing anytime soon?
Any laws on wartime profiteering?
Metal reclamation projects?
Conscription?

eh?

Seriously guys, I really believe Brian is a made-up character, and whoever this person is they use Brian's nom de plume to throw out some of the most ridiculous assertions that would make even a die-hard Republican blush.

If you read his remarks closely, it almost borders on satire. No one could lick Bush's feet for this long and not pass out from the stench. I look forward to Brian's letters almost in the same way I look forward to "The Onion" or "The Daily Show"... they are quick jabs of political humor on an almost always too-serious letters forum.

We should all appreciate Brian for the comedian that he is, and relish that he is here to so vividly illustrate the flaws of all of the Bush apologists out there.

Dang it! I have to defend Brian's right to say what he has to say to the death.

The president can lie to ANYBODY! Screw the people.

Say this with a hick accent, "WE found the weapons of mass destruction"!

Good point, Dan. I'm starting to see it the same way.

RG, what happened to "risen ape"?

Is Brian Stucky an anagram?

I agree with Brian. You blog vultures are a hateful group of bombthrowers. Sadly, you seem to pride yourselves on your cartoonish posts and fail to see how rotten you sound.

Care to advance an argument on his behalf (since he can't be bothered) rather than throwing your own bombs?

Brian your ignorance is showing as usual.
