Homeland security
I think it is a waste of money for the US government to give Colorado more Homeland Security money due to the upcoming Democratic convention. Denver will be the safest city in America during this time. Terrorists know that Democrats are soft when it comes to terrorism. So they will do no harm to this city and will support any candidate the Democrats elect to represent them.

Leroy the dim bulb is glowing again
Posted by drew on July 31, 2007 02:18 PMTry thinking outside of the box Leroy. (pull your head out of your butt) Bush has done everything bin Laden could have wanted. #2 on bin Laden's list of bad guys was Saddam Hussein and he was looking for a way to get al Quaeda into Iraq. Bush took care of what he needed.
Posted by just sayin' on July 31, 2007 03:00 PMyep alquaeda cant wait for the dums to show up more in government. they all cheered in the way they buffaloed the people into voting for them to get them out of iraq.
Posted by on July 31, 2007 03:06 PMgeez, Leroy, Bush has done everything that bin Laden wants. Getting rid of Hussein and setting up al Quaeda in Iraq was a big favor for bin Laden.
Posted by just sayin' on July 31, 2007 03:09 PMit was bush who got the people to vote for them
Posted by larry on July 31, 2007 03:11 PMHey Leroy, I think the president of the US was Bush on 9/11, he was the one not interested in terrorism. The Republicans were in charge during the biggest terrorist attack on US soil. I think it is the Republicans who are soft on terrorism.
Posted by Michael D on July 31, 2007 05:52 PMIt matters not which party holds the keys. The Democrats perfected the method of waging war for profits while the nation protested. Why would Hillary break the pattern?
Our great enemies over the last hundred years or so were created and developed by Wall Street and Military hardware makers. Trotsky was entirely funded by Jacob Schiff of Wall Street, the Nazi Party never would have seen any success without Prescott Bush's financial organizing through Thyssen and IG Farben. The German War industry needed funds from Thyssen to provide, coal, iron, and manufacturing.
Grampa Bush also profited from German Mining using slave labor at Aushwitz. Standard Oil provided otherwise unavailable leadethyl to the Luftwaffe.
Osama was a CIA asset, considered an ally until Clinton's second term. CIA money has been funneled through Pakistan to Muslim extremists in Afghanistan since the Soviet occupation.
The Taliban even got direct money through the War on Drugs. With CIA involvement, ever since the days of Kermit Roosevelt, American capitalist interests have pumped money and weapons to the Islamist Extremists. Over tha last century, there have been moderate Muslim leaders with loyal followers slaughtered by Extremists funded and assisted by British, then American intelligence.
Al-Queda has become a generic term for terrorist. Once the current bogeyman is done, we will have a new "threat".
Only through eternal war will we have eternal peace.
Our freedom is in obedience to Big Brother.
Our strength is through ignorance, newspeak prevents oldthoughts a weakness.
Posted by Holy Reality on July 31, 2007 06:45 PMLeroy is correct when he states terrorists know Dems are soft. They outright endorsed them over the Repubs before the last elections. That says it all.
He is wrong saying Denver will be safe though.
There will be a huge showing from what is becoming your garden variety , mainstream liberal-

The fact that Al Qaeda is still an issue more than 5 years after the attacks on New York and Washington is proof of how ineffectual the Bush administration has been.
Had Ahab (Bush) not been distracted by the Great White Whale (Hussein) perhaps we could have captured or killed Osama and the rest of Al Qaeda by now.

Posted by Holy Reality on July 31, 2007 07:38 PMWHAT homeland security ? More money won't help solve the problem when our borders are not protected. With between 12 and 30 MILLION illegals already living in the USA and more pouring in daily, it's a bit late to worry about protecting Denver or anyplace else. You can thank our elected officals as they allowed this to happen.

did you forget all the attacks under clinton when he and one of his girls maddy told everyone they were going to be tought on terrorism after every attck? I guess he was just to busy thinking what the other head was getting.
Posted by on August 1, 2007 04:58 AMLets just change topic and blame all the administrations. The topic was money for security at the convention. But since we are throwing out all topics other then that how about how Hickenlooper and Ritter sold oput the workers of Colorado to get the convention. If you are not union you can not work the convention. As reported by the news months ago.
Denver has already been reconed by those idiots in ski masks calling themselves anarchists. Shop owners on the 16th street mall need some money to improve security gates to cover the windows and doors on thier shops.
The hotel situation for those who want to visit Denver and not the convention during this time is negligable, as rooms were booked up with in the first week of the announcement of the convention.
The only good thing about Denver geting this convention is that I get to tell my nieces that the circus is in town.
Posted by on August 1, 2007 06:17 AMAh yes tough guys like Bush and Ghouliani. They protected us well during 9/11 eh? Bush had the terrorists on the run, then decided to go soft on them..lost his hardon I guess for Bin Laden and figured he'd invade another country just for the heck of it. Iraq wasnt hiding and even Bush could find it (with help) on a map. Who knows Saddam might do something abd to us some day, might as well get in the first attack. Rudy's idea of heroism was going to as many Yankee games a s possible, looking pathetically frail and confushed and wearing his Fireman or Police hat. Americas mayor? Puhlease! Sad when your biggest achievement is having your city attacked. Might as well make New Orleans Mayor the mayor of america, he achieved as much as rudy. Tough Republicans all...if you guys are so tough why are you here? Get your macho asses over there!
Posted by jimd4x4 on August 1, 2007 07:14 AMI feel slightly more stupid for reading this opinion...and the comments that followed. What a bunch of party line morons.
Posted by on August 1, 2007 07:51 AMOsama came out with a video just before the election in 2004 that helped Bush to be elected. Why do you think he did this? I think he is very happy with the actions of Bush
Posted by roscoe on August 1, 2007 07:58 AMGuess Who,
Bush couldn't even read his large print comic books by the light of Leroy's anemic glow!
Posted by drew on August 1, 2007 10:09 AMI just love to read the dripping partisanship crap from both sides. Instead of defending corrupt political parties why don't you concentrate on replacing the clowns who populate the elected offices of both parties.
Posted by on August 1, 2007 10:12 AMLeroy, you are exactly right, just saying, look up the facts,25% of Al Qaeda fled to Iraq after we went into Afghanistan before we went into Iraq.Your just another un-informed liberal.
Posted by bart on August 1, 2007 10:22 AMBart
I think facts are showing that plenty of them are in Pakistan and elsewhere in the Middle East. The Bushman's own generals have said that only 10% of the insurgents in Iraq are Al Qaeda. Regardless, you guys need to stop blaming everyone else but Bush for the fact that Osama hasn't been caught, or for the fact that Al Qaeda is just as much a threat now as they were in 2001 (Bush's own intelligence briefs have said that). You also can't blame Bubba for the fact that the current administration let Al Qaeda leadership escape in the mountains of Tora Bora because they were already planning for and diverting resources to the Iraq misadventure.
Back to the topic of the letter...just more partisan rantathon about who is to blame for real or perceived threats. The fact is that neither party will truly do anything about it.

Oh, also let me know when you can fly an F-14 solo.
Until then,

Posted by mytwosense on August 4, 2007 11:32 AMmytwosense-
I'll say whatever I please thank you.
For your information, I was responding to Drew's asinine comment,
"Bush couldn't even read his large print comic books by the light of Leroy's anemic glow!" .
Apparently that passes for adult debate in your view .
I thought my response was rather appropriate.
I thought you were all into "truth to power" and "critical thinking".
What's up with that?
