Keeping him quiet
My thanks to the Rocky Mountain News for its coverage of President Bush’s commutation of Libby’s jail sentence.
Libby obviously is privy to much more damaging information, and the White House will do anything to keep him quiet.

Really?!?! You would think he would have commuted the whole sentence if that were true. I swear, the left has just as many conspiracy theorists as the right.
They're all nuts.
Posted by AnneD on July 10, 2007 10:24 AMCommuting the sentence without outright pardon will effectively keep Scooter off subpoena lists. Without Libby's testimony, prosecutors will have a difficult if not impossible time proving executive and black branch malfeasance.
Anyone whom actually buys the talking points from the Bushites is the true nut.

Claiming scandal here (and again) gives hope for another witch hunt to keep them busy. It's what the new direction congress is so good at.
Posted by KW on July 10, 2007 01:12 PMAll your scandals are ongoing, KW - I don't think any are "falling apart" - and if one quietens down, just wait a day or two and there will be another slime-covered republican skeleton found in another closet (As well, probably, as another right wing evangelist being forced OUT of a closet).
Posted by drew on July 10, 2007 02:24 PMRight drew. The reason for the death of the Plame kerfuffle was what again?
If you ask Charles B he'll tell you the whole case was ruined because Libby lied.
If only the millions of convicts in prison would've knew that lying would ruin an investigation they could all be free.
Go figure.
Posted by KW on July 10, 2007 02:45 PMOf course, the difference being that the millions of convicts in prison aren't bestest friends with the pretzeldent.
