Kofi Annan at CU
Someone’s got to make up his lost revenue from the UN’s Oil for Food misappropriations. Maybe Ward Churchill and Coffie can open up a Starbucks with CU’s largess to lift the spirits of students facing 15%-20% increases in tuition.

Jim:
How much money is unaccounted for in Iraq vs. the oil for food scandal?
While both are serious and merit condemnation, wouldn't prudence tell us we should fry the big fish first?
Let's establish a Truman style committee to hit back hard at war profiteers. As Franklin Roosevelt said during WWII: "I don't want to see a single war millionaire created in the United States as a result of this world disaster".
Posted by Charles B on July 5, 2007 04:09 PManything over 10 dollars was way to much and it was over 40 million I do believe.
and doesnt it figure a democrate would hate to see any one make money on their disaster of a war that killed 100's of thousands of American men and women.
Posted by on July 5, 2007 05:19 PMOur state government agencies are loaded with cash-cows for special interests. To bad we just see the "small potatoes". Scams at CU, Metro State in violation of both state and federal appropriation laws ,with their contracts with Dataman, Inc, an India based and owned company, etc. "Show me the real money".
The Mormon Church has/had a cash-cow at Fitzsimons, that would make even Nacchio blush. In this federal funded project, ALL of the plum jobs and contracts went to companies whose owners are members of the Mormon Church. Former UCH president/ceo Dennis Brimhall, directed these corrupt activities. He offset SLC's Mormon Church cash flow problems, caused by Albertsons and Marriott's economic downturns. They rewarded Brimhall for his fraud, waste, and abuse, by appointing him as their new Director, International Mormon Missions. WHITE HOUSE FAITH BASED INITIATIVE GONE BUCK WILD.

Why shift attention from the letter writer's original point. Annan is a very large fish. Only a dyed-in-the-wool socialist would let him off the hook.
I re-read it and it is about CU paying Annan too much. So we should go after Annan and not CU? I guess we could accuse him of the crime of being a capitalist.
What I really don't understand is why no one has even mentioned Clinton's sexual liaison or Chapaquidak. You conservatives need to study your play book a little harder.
Posted by Truth on July 5, 2007 06:31 PMCmon Truth we all didnt get enough of that in another thread?
Posted by bwr on July 5, 2007 06:35 PMYeah! Rotting corpses of drowned woman littering the bottom of the lake is just another busy day for the Kennedys.

It was a call to action! I condemned all involved in the scandal. Do you agree with my proposal or disagree?
"Annan is a very large fish. Only a dyed-in-the-wool socialist would let him off the hook."
Only a shallow ideologue would belch up such stale rejoinders. "dyed-in-the-wool socialist..."?
Posted by Charles B on July 5, 2007 09:10 PMOnly a dyed-in-the-wool socialist would revert to calling someone a shallow ideologue.
Neener, neener, neener.
Seriously, though, I'd like to know, are you receiving Chavez's daily e-mail tips on gov't do's and don'ts.
Posted by skeptical on July 5, 2007 09:43 PMtoo bad truth you are the only one who has to have a daily dose of clinton. it is a shame your brain only has one gear and can only contain one thought and that is name calling on anything where clintons name is. maybe you should try something new like original thought for a change. who knows you might find a world of new things out there.
ok beging your name calling and show everyone here your skills.

Golly gee, if I had only known you cared that much I would have sent you my very last T-shirt. What I really like about your post is how you hone right in on the subject of the thread.
Posted by Truth on July 7, 2007 04:59 PMIt is interesting to note that in Hebrew the word for monkey is Kof. OK, maybe it is a stretch, but he and others acted more like lesser primates on the world stage.
Seriously though...Kofi, needs the dough and what way to do it, but by giving meaningless speeches and walks down UN memory lane. Next a book!
