Richard Doran of Parachute writes:

Since the NAACP conducted a “funeral” banning the use of the “N” word, if there were an NAAWP would it perform a similar ceremony to ban the use of the “H” word...."honky, that is?”

Gee Whiz what is up with you people. havent you learned that the burrial ceromony was only for whites not to use this word. It is only white people who are racist and bigoted. Good gravey, the derogatory use of honkey, whitebread, cone head are not racist at all. They only identify a group of people who through revised history are the ones responsible for slavery and all things bad.

So if a mexican or latin calls you jefe or punta, and a black person calls you a cracker it only because they are identifing a group of people it has nothing to do with being racial.

We Democrats will never let the "N" word die .It is the main part of our strategy to get the Blacks to the polls and vote Democrat. It works like this.We put the message out in the Black community that Whitey is still after them and the "N" word is being heard all around the country. Then we tell them we are their only hope against this racism in our country. If it works like in the past we Democrats will get 90% of the Black vote.Long live the "N" word.

Only whites can racist. That's chiseled in stone as a true fact of life.

The n word still lives and will never die.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the "CP" in NAACP stands for COLORED PEOPLE?

Why hasn't this organization "buried" that obviously outdated and hateful description and come up with a catchy new acronym?

Maybe NAARB .

Take a guess.

It's simple. N*****s is racist and an example of a hate crim, as is wetback or ched. Honkey, cracker, jeffe, or gringo, even Uncle Tom is considered free speech. It's that simple. Thank you ACLU

I have always had a problem with the hypocrasy involved with the N word. It seems that if black people use it to describe each other that's fine but, if white people use it, it's discrimination. I have even had, ( what word do I use for, damn it, ok I got it , people who's ancestors came from Africa ), people tell me that they don't like being called black people, they want to be called African Americans which is like German Americans and French Americans, Mexican Americans etc, etc, so forth and so on. But that doesn't work either because I have also had trouble with the African American thing with ah, damnit, see what I mean, this bloody silly political correctness farce that has been foisted on all of us makes it damned near impossible to even start out saying something without taking the chance of insulting someone somewhere on the face of the planet. But, back to the point, if I can remember what the hell it was.

Oh yeah, the African American thing, people from Nigeria want to be called Nigerians, people from the Republic of the Congo get upset if you call them anything but Congolese. Some people from Mexico want to be called latinos and others don't, and people from---- see, it's impossible to be right when everybody walks around all tightly winded up to get offended because somebody else can't read their minds to find out what they want to be called.

How about we come up with a word for all people that will not offend anyone, OK, come on, I know somebody out there can come up with it, ah, how about Earthlings, no that's a bit---no. Maybe we just need to get rid of this abortion of the English, excuse me, American language called political correctness, that's a contradiction in terms isn't it?, and ask people there names and call them that, of course that would require that you would------, the hell with it, I'm going to go have a beer out on the front pourch and watch the squirrels, they seem to know what their doing.

Try ignoring the urge to place people into categories. I like to think of them as Americans unless they insist upon classifying themselves. Granted,it doesn't always work in this world run amok with PC; but, it generally works for me.

To bad the N****** haven't buried the NAALCP...they and the entire nation would be better off.

...as a kid I always heard the saying...."sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." Act like adults and you will be treated accordingly, continue acting like children will ensure continued enslavement and ridicule.

the NAACP did not bury the n word, now only blacks can call each other by that name.....because wheb they say the n word it is a title of honor

Bravo NAACP! Following your lead, my organization, the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Celtic People) has banned the use of "fightin'" "drinkin'" "dirty" and "leprechaun" within the same sentence as Irish. And by the way, we want our holiday back. So all of you non-irish, quite acting like asses on March 17. That's our birthright.

Posted by Patty O'Shanahan on July 16, 2007 08:30 AM

p.s. I'm suing Notre Dame for their denigrating and racist use of a violent leprechaun as a mascot and of the term "fightin' Irish" as perpetuating untrue and hurtful Celtic stereotypes.

Who's with me?

Get Real...... my guess is National Assn for the Advancement of Rapper Bugs....Eh??

I'm sure and with ya Patty O'Shanahan!!

My my and begorrah!

What's wrong with calling any and all people who choose to (legally) live here Americans? Why does anyone need to hyphenate anything else to that word? I don't care where you're from--we're from everywhere--I only know that you are here in this country now. Are you going to fully accept that? And no, you don't get special treatment because you're from one country and not another. No one should.

Suddenly I'm channeling Bill Murray from Stripes..."Our ancestors were kicked out of every other country..."

Good one Patty! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the centuries-old term "Paddy Wagon" as it refers to the drunk bus. I'm sure that offends some of the Irish.

But all joking aside, if it's going to be enforced for one race, it should work all the way down the line! Oh, but for the double standard! Black leaders are up in arms over the lack of black head coaches in the NFL (to take only one example). They say the number should reflect societies standards. Fine. Put the number at, say for argument, 20%, and the NFL should honor that. But if the NFL does that, then they're going to have to be consistent, which means a lot of black players will lose their jobs to white players. If 20% (or whatever number) is enforced in the coaching ranks, it damn well better be enforced in the players' ranks, too. Nice work--you got five coaches jobs, but hundreds of players are suddenly looking for work.

Think that will ever happen?
