‘Retirement math’
So now the Denver Public School retirement people made an $80 million mistake in the math (“DPS pension in a decade: flush to formidable debt,” June 25). I certainly hope that the math teachers in our schools teach our children the right math and not the retirement math.

Posted by [fish] on July 5, 2007 06:44 AMJust so it isn't the Trinity math:
“Christ, according to the faith, is the second person in the Trinity, the Father being the first and the Holy Ghost the third. Each of these persons is God. Christ is his own father and his own son. The Holy Ghost is neither father nor son, but both. The son was begotten by the father, but existed before he was begotten--just the same before as after. . . .
“So, it is declared that the Father is God, and the Son God, and the Holy Ghost God, and that these three Gods make one God.
“According to the celestial multiplication table, once one is three, and three times one is one, and according to heavenly subtraction, if we take two from three, three are left. The addition is equally peculiar, if we add two to one, we have but one. . . .
“Nothing ever was, nothing ever can be more perfectly idiotic and absurd than the dogma of the Trinity.” Robert G. Ingersoll
"fish" stay away from the pronouns, thanks.

If you ever have a cogent point to make, try to simplify and lose all the drivel. Maybe that way I and others might attempt to read it. Otherwise, we just skip over your gibberish.
Mr. Grimes,
It is your God-given right to go into eternity without a Savior. I would strongly suggest you don't.
Either way, consider what a very wise man once said
"Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil." Ecclesiastes 8: 11
R.G., God's mercy toward you is new every morning and in spite of your thoughts to the contrary, He would welcome you home, even now, just as the father welcomed home the prodigal son.
You would discover that this amazing and, I would remind you, all-powerful God, has a vested interest in seeing your safe return home, since you are His creation.
He will not, however, force you to accept His love and offering of a free gift of eternal life.
I would like to urge you to consider His offer though. I only write this now because you're my human brother here in this life, and once the curtain is drawn back, and the Lord Jesus returns, I won't be able to influence the matter, one way or the other.
I'm an admirer of Ingersoll and for RU Serious to suggest "drivel" on his part leaves me incapable of furthering my disgust. What legacy has RU left or will leave that will come close to Ingersoll. Denouncing Ingersoll by some low-life is contemptible. Will the world see statues and memorable mention of RU as it sees of Ingersoll. I have to go now lest the modulator strike me down for my evil thoughts of such low -life.
Posted by JVB on July 6, 2007 09:49 AMThanks Skeptical. I'll just wait for the Jew's Second Coming so I can be declared a "goat" along with six billion others if the "fruit from the womb" sired from the "loins of David" without benefit of clergy sentences me to hell because I give him the birdie just like you and I give the pope the finger.
The Jew is a fiction transmogrified into an anti-Semitic Christian god upon whom Gentiles gorge themselves in his flesh and wash it down with his blood. It is ghoulish and cannabalistic even though it is symbolic.
The Aztec cut the hearts out of their living prisoners so their god wouldn't go hungry. The Spaniard comes along and replaces their flesh eating god with their Jewish god whose flesh is to be eaten by his followers.
"Those who will not accept that I should reign over them, bring them hither and kill them," Luke 19:27 and while you are at it: Hate everybody including yourself: Luke 14.
I thank you Skeptical for being civil unlike those who place so much value on their opinion they are willing to stone, burn, kill others on account of it. The difference between you and I, Skeptical, is that I have one less god than you do. We (pronoun) are both atheist when it comes to Zeus, Apollo, Prometheus and nine million other gods the Deicide of Time has vanquished.
Deicide Corner: “One must choose between God and Man, and all 'radicals' and 'progressives,' from the mildest liberal to the most extreme anarchist, have in effect chosen Man.” George Orwell
