And what, pray tell, O wise sage did the pardons granted by Clinton, including 16 Puerto Rican terrorists, a slimy "Rich" financier, and his own derelic brother tell us all? For a complete list see

This from the syndicate that promised to return dignity to the white house.

On July 30, 2007, U.S. Border Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean will have been in federal prison for 194 days! Having taken an oath to protect our borders, they are now in prison for doing their jobs--trying to stop an illegal alien drug smuggler. Today, their commitment has cost them their jobs, their freedom and placed a desperate emotional and financial strain on their families. http://www.grassfire.org/7142/offer.asp?rid=11528520

They told us that any President - and most State Governors - may exercise Executive Clemency, even for those who might not be liked by others. Just as Ford's pardon of the "unindicted CRIMINAL co-conspirator" in Watergate, Richard Nixon, told us that - among other things - such Executive Clemency may be used as a trade-off to gain high office in the country as well.
Not a bit of which is actually relevant in the case of poor Scooter
- beyond providing a little bit of example for the need to exercise a political privilege, such as Executive Clemency, somewhat more cautiously, perhaps. Both the Ford and Bush actions were politically . . . shall we say, "inexpedient"? . . . coming as they did at a time when the Administration was embroiled in other problematical adventures. But, beyond the area of political inexpediency, there is no real comparison.
Of course, the topic does provide the Party faithful with opportunity to vent their ignorance of the whole matter of "Executive Privilege", at a time when the current President is following the Nixon example of claiming it under highly charged political circumstnaces. But, of course, for those faithful who joyfully revel in their righteous pride of their arrogant ignorance, the opportunity cannot be missed. Can it?
