Some questions to ask yourself
Tuesday, July 31 at 12:01 AM

These questions are for those that are asking the candidates, “How can Washington make my particular life better?”
Can a lifestyle change help me with my own health care or economic problems? If so, why won’t I make this change?
Why is it someone else’s responsibility to alleviate self-inflicted problems? Am I willing to accept restrictions on my freedoms from those I expect to finance my relief?
Am I willing to get the education and do the work that is necessary to advance myself? If not, why?
Am I willing to look for solutions that do not include (or expect) a government-imposed solution?
Am I more worried about claiming my “rights” than fulfilling my responsibilities?
A cartoon caption says it well: “The problem with society is that there are too many people with too many rights.”

great questions.
we have a problem here in the states with one party always telling groups of people that the government owes them everything they need and they believe it. they promote the old class envy card when ever they can, always forgetting they are the ones with the money and still want everything free, just to get elected and live off the rest of us.
I have a feeling government would be so different if true term limits were in place, I be ole teddy would be running for norms place in boston and everyone would know his name.

Sear,

I thought that Marxism died when the Berlin Wall. I was mistaken.

Of course no one claims to be a Marxist anymore but the central control, collectivist mentality seems to be healthier then ever.

Perhaps it's the death throes? We can only hope.

Here's some more questions to ask yourself:

1. Is it any of my business that someone else wants to have an abortion?

2. What right do I have to enact my beliefs as law and force others to live by them?

3. How will denying marriage to some people defend my marriage?

4. How will forcing someone to lie or never talk about their private life in order to serve their country serve any purpose at all?

5. Why can't I mind my own business and let other people live their own lives? Why do I feel such a need to stick my nose in everyone else's business, judge them and tell them how to run their lives?

6. How do we fight terrorism when everything we've tried so far has only created more terrorists?

7. Where is Osama bin Laden?

Thomas... 3,4,5 smacks of gay rights issues!
Why try to disguise it between abortion and the disgusting O bin Laden?

AAA,

Nevertheless, they are still some very good questions; and they are quite to the point of the topic.

I'll add one here as well:

Why should my superstitions, religious cult, or belief-system be allowed to deprive others of those rights and freedoms guaranteed under the Constitution and Bill of Rights?

Why are the american people too stupid and lazy to force change in the government

why are we not deporting all illegal aliens in our country.

why isnt stem cell research utilized to its fullest extent.

I could go on and on but i think the answer to my first question is the same answer for all questions in this forum

Keep drinking the kool-aid James. What a tool

AAA,

I don't think of them as gay "rights" issues.

They're EQUALITY issues.

So, why are so many people on the right opposed to equality?

Why are they afraid of other people having the same opportunities as they do?

Thomas, well if gays get married and stay together at a greater rate then heteros that would make the whole bunch of family defender groups look pretty silly.

People see pregnancy as punishment for the kind of sex they don`t approve of, even if married women seed abortions.

Can`t have people enjoying parts of life someone disapproves of now can we?

Can`t let them gamble, fornicate ( Goddess I love that word) commit adultery or breast feed in public.

Reading between the lines of this letter:

The righteous writer does all the things he's advocating, and the rest of us are just dirty f*cking hippies in search of a handout.
