Terrorism
When the subject is terrorism people like Paul Campos seem to have trouble grasping that the Jihadist threat is real. Like Neville Chamberlain with fascism they allow emotion to obscure the express actions and words of people who wish to dominate

But Robert you dont understand. The fact that the planners and most of the terrorists in the west are middle to upper income and well educated. Jihad is created from western oppression and poverty conditions created by those bad capitolists in America. The interpritation of the Koran into an oppresive ideaological tyranny is caused by Christian extremists.
In other words it is all America's fault because we are predominately tolerant and helpful. Because we as a nation have a por underclass that lives better then most upperclasse around the world. It is all our fault.
Didn't you get the memo on this?
Posted by on July 14, 2007 03:42 PMPaul Campos has a very hard time grasping reality in any context. He's a law professor at CU and has a god complex concerning his view of the world.
You will enjoy reading his work more if you include just after reading the comic pages and consider his column as just a part of the comics.
Posted by carl on July 14, 2007 05:26 PMThe threat is real but but a lot of people by into Bushes scare tactics that if we don't fight the war in Iraq they will follow us home. I don't beleive we were fighting in Iraq on sept 11. Besides if they want to follow us home Bush can just say BRINGEM ON.

Jihadist Puppies of Doom!
Mom, can I keep him?
Posted by Charles B on July 15, 2007 06:31 AMAnyone who doesnot believe it's real needs to take a look at daily newspapers. We have an open boarder to the south that essentially sets out a welcom mat entry way for those that want nothing more than to cripple and destroy America. It's a shame.
Posted by Phil on July 15, 2007 07:16 AMWe all need to realize that Paul Campos uses his column to preach to his choir. And yes, it does get so strange that one may wonder from time to time whether the column might have been ghostwrote by a certain ethnic studies professor. Regardless of whether Paul Campos truly believes what he writes, I’m convinced he delights in the reaction he receives. Probably best to ignore him.
Posted by Craig Miller on July 15, 2007 07:34 AMCharles B. Yes sweetie you can keep him if you get him neutered, wormed and bathed. Remember Jihadists must be licensed with homeland security.
Mom.

There IS a Santa Clause
And the muslims want to eat your babies, in much the same fashion as the USSR did for 50 years before collapsing from their own financial weight of building WMDs and trying to colonize Afghanistan, and other parts of the Middle East.
Sound familiar?
The righties have found a new boogieman, and aren't about to let us forget him.
Some things never change.
Until we get smart and.change them.
Personally, I'm getting real tired of seeing the same footage of ( EEEK!) Jihadist terrorists hanging from the horizontal ladder, and popping out of the ground.
Someone PLEASE tell Fox Noise and the right-wing media to get some new film.
And, let's NOT go the down same path as the USSR.
Posted by dmz on July 15, 2007 12:17 PMWell said, Mr. Lipton. Thank you for your comments.
