The Bush Administration
Wednesday, July 11 at 12:26 PM

Cindy Lowry of Arvada writes:

The Bush Administration from Day One has abused and misused our Constitution. When he commuted Libby’s prison sentence, he lied a clear foundation to prove the fact the President and Vice President are in cahoots with each other and they are ‘covering up” their own lies, deceive, and premeditated obstruction of justice.
The American public must insist on a investigation on this matter, and members of Congress CAN NOT AND MUST NOT let these weasel actions slip through there judiciary system. It’s time for the Bush Administration to have its upcomings and be set squared on our Constitution.

Cindy,

Way to not only ignore the powers granted the President and Congress in the Constitution, but to also destroy the usage of proper English in your letter.

But you did make a very astute observation. Imagine, a President and Vice President in "cahoots" with each other in the same administration! As our friends at Guinness say, BRILLIANT!!

Good luck with that, .. my guess is that NOTHING will happen at all

Actually, Cindy came close to making another astute observation when she referred to the weasel actions of Bush and Cheney. Remember his pledge to hold wrongdoers accountable and to restore honor and dignity to the White House? Remember his promise to fire people like Libby? Libby resigned.

As to the Constitution, nowhere does it authorize the president to lie to the American people.

I will grant that Dan2's letter whitewashing the president is much more grammatically correct than Cindy's.

Thanks Truth.

While I do not condone the actions and statements that this President has made, I will not call for impeachment for "high crimes and misdemeanors" of which have not been committed, at least that we know of and are provable.

I place most of the blame of our Constitutional erosions on the Republican controlled Congress. The Patriot Act, the War Authorization, the crazy spending, all come down to the legislators. While it is indeed the responsibility of the President to veto poorly written legislation, this President took it as a green light to do whatever he wanted.

Truth, you do have to admit, that if we held our politicians accountable for lying to the American public, there would not be ONE single Senator or Representative that would still be in office. Not one.

I hear Cindy Sheehan is now threatening to challenge Pelosi for her seat if Pelosi won't bring impeachment proceedings by 7/23.

Looks like the impeachment crowd has added another great spokesman to the ranks.

I myself try to live by a couple of very simple rules. If I find people like Sheehan or ODonnell are championing my causes, I must be riding on the wrong bus.

Dan2: "Truth, you do have to admit, that if we held our politicians accountable for lying to the American public, there would not be ONE single Senator or Representative that would still be in office. Not one."

I agree. So what does that prove? That the president should not be held accountable for lying to the American people?

I don't go along with the "logic" of since A did so-and-so, then B is free to do so-and-so. It seems obvious to me that the policy lies of a president are much more serious than the campaign lies of congresspeople.

KW: "I must be riding on the wrong bus."

You got that right, KW, but it has nothing to do with Sheehan or ODonnell.

As I read this letter, I heard the voice of Alice, the waitress on that TV show...

If you read it that way it makes sense.

Cindy Sheehan is one of the most disgusting human beings on the face of the planet. Anyone that would devalue the life of their child for 15 minutes of fame and a shot at a political career is beyond contempt.

Dan2 & KW:
How many dead in Iraq off of lies does it take to impeach a president. You GOP lovers make me sick. You care more about defending your criminal in the white house then you do about our troops. But your the first ones to yell support our troops. I support them I want them home not fighting a losing battle. Just like veitnam one day people will say what did they die for.
