Alberto Gonzales
Tuesday, August 28 at 11:27 AM

Jon Fox of Denver writes:

I think Alberto knows who blew up the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001 and then anthraxed Congress and the Press, but he just can’t recall who it is.
Maybe that’s why they went to see Ashcroft in the hospital, to see if he could remember. Perhaps the same people that told him not to fly commercial in Sept.

READER COMMENTS

9/11, TWA800, KAL007, PanAm 103, Waco, Ron Brown, anthrax envelopes, options trading before 9/11, there are lots of things out there to find out the facts on.

That reminds me....buy stock in Reynolds Aluminum.

If Gonzales had inside information on some deep dark secret, whether it be the supposed truth about 9/11, or some other kind of criminal conspiracy he wouldn't be going home; he's be dead. Politicians don't let co-conspirators walk away and retire. They arrange for their suicide (you know, shot in the back of the head in rural Arkansas, or some off the beaten track location).

Just ask Vince Foster...well, sorry, bad example. He died of suicide in a Washington DC park. Oh well, you get the idea.

03:32PM You are of course referring to the infamous Clinton mind erase...what was last count; around 54, wasn't it? My how time flies after the bodies fall....

Good riddance Alberto.

And what was the problem with Ron Brown's aircraft? Why did Vince Foster "commit suicide"? I'm sure Alberto knows these answers as well as who blew up (flew planes into) the World Trae center towers.
Conspiracy theorists thrive!

Maybe Alberto nibbled on a few too many lead-paint toys when he was a nipper.

Conspiracy theorys have a way of taking on a life of their own.

The simple answer is usually correct.

The owners of the WTC duped some swarthy middle-eastern types to act as decoys, the planes were remote-controled, and the buildings were taken down for the insurance .

They WERE getting old and costly to maintain.

McCall -- Where are the missing people from the planes. Were the somehow locked on the planes? You need more tin foil.

"They WERE getting old and costly to maintain."

The WTC towers were finished in the early 1970s. The Empire State Building, on the other hand, was completed in 1931. Try again.

Whats the big deal?
Alberto sounds like your garden variety democrat.

Remember this Rasmussen poll showing 35% of dems believed Bush had prior knowledge of 911 ?

And another 26% "weren't sure".

So 61% of dems either think Bush willingly let 911 happen or consider the idea plausible.

Sorry, that should be the letter writer Jon , not Alberto.

It doesn't matter much how, but all those on the 9/11 aircraft were sacrificed
"for the greater good".
Whenever you hear someone in the government say "for the greater good", you had better get out of the way and hide.

I asked that Alberto not suffer castigation. Don't kill the messenger. Alberto, and you know damn well, simply carried out his master's mandate. Bush will simply appoint another bushie. What is needed is qualification: All attorneys must be Independents and none from Pat or Jerry's law schools.

Rather than gloat or pout over the departure of Mr. Gonzales, I would think it would be more prudent to start being concerned over who will replace him. Alberto is history, his successor will be reality.

I think Gonzalas knows who brought down the trade centers and I know too.Al Qaeda dumb-asses.

Liberals have so much class...everything has to be PC, unless they say it.

In a comment that’s bound to outrage Hispanic Americans, NBC’s Matt Lauer referred to outgoing Attorney General Alberto Gonzales as a “piñata.”

On Tuesday morning’s “Today” show, Lauer spoke with Democratic pundit James Carville about Gonzales and “the venom in Washington right now,” and said:

“When it comes right down to it, strange dynamic, an only-in Washington story. There are a lot of Democrats who just victimized and villainized Alberto Gonzales over these last eight months, but when it comes right down to it this morning, are not all that happy he’s gone, because in some ways, they’ve lost a piñata, haven’t they?”

A piñata is a brightly-coloured paper container filled with sweets and/or toys. It is generally suspended on a rope from a tree branch or ceiling and is commonly used during Mexican celebrations. A person then swings at the pinata in an attempt to break it open and release the gifts.

On the NewsBusters Web site, Noel Sheppard noted: “In a post-Don Imus world, one would think journalists would be on their guard to not say or write anything that could be in any way perceived as racist…

“Certainly, given Gonzales’ ethnic background [he is the son of Mexican-American immigrants], and the context of the discussion, mightn’t ‘whipping boy’ or ‘punching bag’ have been more appropriate?”

Lauer’s remark came just days after CBS’s Andy Rooney made a racial slur about Hispanic baseball players, saying “today’s baseball stars are all guys named Rodriguez to me.”

Sheppard wondered if there will be a “Don Imus outrage” over Lauer’s remark, and said: “No, I don’t either.”

I will be roasted for this bit of brilliance hereby attached: It is a letter from the Post supporting my position on Alberto:

Alberto Gonzales: faithful servant and loyal friend Re: "Justice must regain credibility, respect," Aug. 28 editorial. Denver Post:

Your editorial does little justice to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales in its slapdash attempt to castigate the Bush administration at the expense of an honorable public servant. The attorney general did not contribute to the "deterioration of civil liberties," as you suggest. On the contrary, he was an ardent proponent of national security and the U.S. foreign surveillance program, in spite of the Democrats' brazen attempts to scuttle them for "violating" our civil rights. While The Post was vigorously defending terror suspects at Guantanamo Bay, the attorney general was upholding the rule of law. He was a faithful servant and a loyal friend of the president. In short, Gonzales was a victim of a rash of "scandals" created by the Democrats to advance their own political agenda. In that sense, your editorial is nothing less than a disgrace. Brian Stuckey, Denver

Disclaimer: All I say is: Don't pick on Al; he did not bushwhack America. He followed orders and if you tell the boss the truth the truth shall set you free. Me, RG, an agnostice, cowardly atheist.

He did tell the truth. Why do you think the dems. were after him?

Posted by Keith on August 31, 2007 08:24 AM

Al is a loyalist to Bush hunted by both parties; the buck stops at the evangelist never getting to America's bushwhacker. Keith, listen up: Osama and 9/11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia doing the will of their God called a faith initiative much like Bush's faith iniative to attack Iraq. Al Qaeda was not responsible; Bush popularized Al Qaeda.
