Al-Qaida’s best friends
Ponder this incontrovertible fact: The best friends al-Qaida has on this Earth are the American left and its lickspittle lap dogs in the Democratic Party.
All the head-sawing murderers have to do is wait, and their best friends will hand them their victory with a big sappy grin and slap on the back.

On the day George Bush went into Iraq the happiest man in the world was Osama bin Laden. Save the world with your little "Rambo" fantasies about how to solve the world's problems.
Meanwhile, the rest of us will continue to save our democracy from the Constitutional erosion this corrupt White House is causing, and the damage to our country it is inflicting that is far worse than Al Qaeda could ever hope for. WE are the Americans, Kent-- who love our freedoms, our country, and our Constitution that has kept this the best country on earth the last 230 years. Posted by Dan on August 21, 2007 10:51 AMMr. Lemon's letter would be hilarious if it weren't for the fact that 3,707 U.S. troops have been killed in Iraq, there on George Bush's orders to disarm Saddam of nonexistent weapons of mass destruction.
His letter is an example of hyperbolic 'distraction'. Since September 11, 2001, Bush has had a completely compliant Congress, a supine news media and command of the U.S. military -- things are a mess in Iraq because of the intransigent incompetence of just one 'commander-in-chief': George W. Bush. Even this new Dimocrat Congress has given Bush every single thing he has thus far requested for the occupation of Iraq and for his so-called 'war on terror'.
Here is the truth from which Lemon wishes to distract us. Osama bin Laden is still free ... there is one person responsible for that "incontrovertible fact": George W. Bush. Al Qaida is resurgent according to Bush's own National Security Estimate ... there is one person in command who is responsible for that "incontrovertible fact": George W. Bush. The U.S. military is stretched to the breaking point -- Iraq deployments are now fifteen months -- there is one person responsible for the "incontrovertible fact" that we are militarily weaker now than we were five years ago: George W. Bush.
It sure looks to me like the best friend and ally Osama bin Laden and al Qaida ever had is one person: George W. Bush.

OK patri(idi)otic keyboard warriors, a little history lesson here.
Osama Bin Laden was our CIA asset. He is likely now dead, as it is difficult to survive in a cave when your kidneys are failed.
Regardless, to say Clinton had 13 opportunities to have his head on a platter is monday morning coaching.
Clinton may have had the chance to seize Osama, but the state department was hesitant to arrest an ally, a CIA asset at the time. What the Clinton Administration did was track the Cole bombers, and make a case to try them in a court of law.
Bush in his infinite incompetence dismissed this work, then ordered the FBI to stop tracing the Bin Laden money trail in American banks.
Then In August 2001 Bush vacationing in his ranch ignores a briefing describing a pending attack using airplanes flown into buildings. FBI agents dissatisfied with the president's reaction, personally flew to Crawford and met with our brave decider. The decision was to again dismiss these agents and tell them," you've covered your asses now".
If this was a Democratic president, the press would have had a field day with him(her). Talk about lickspittle lapdogs! The press has given Bush a free pass, AND a direct line to catapult the propaganda, misleading Americans to believe that Saddam was behind 911.

Tough Response Appeals to Clinton Critics

"President Clinton won warm support for ordering anti-terrorist bombing attacks in Afghanistan and Sudan yesterday from many of the same lawmakers who have criticized him harshly as a leader critically weakened by poor judgment and reckless behavior in the Monica S. Lewinsky scandal.
A few senators, however, noted that the timing of the attack raised the question of whether Clinton had ordered it to deflect attention from his personal affairs. Others suggested the scandal may be preventing the president from paying attention to critical international problems.
But most lawmakers from both parties were quick to rally behind Clinton in a deluge of public statements and appearances yesterday, a marked contrast to the relatively sparse and chilly reception that greeted his Monday statement on the Lewinsky matter."

Sen. Joe Lieberman says the great majority of foreign fighters who become suicide bombers in Iraq enter the country from Syria – and most arrive there by landing in the Syrian capital at Damascus International Airport.
In an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal, Lieberman asserts that cutting off the flow of terrorists traveling through Damascus is a key to success in Iraq.
"Al-Qaida in Iraq is sustained by a transnational network of facilitators and human smugglers, who replenish its supply of suicide bombers – approximately 60 to 80 Islamist extremists, recruited every month from across the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, and sent to meet their al-Qaida handlers in Syria, from where they are taken to Iraq to blow themselves up to kill countless others,” Lieberman writes.
Up to 80 percent of those extremists enter Iraq via Syria, according to Lieberman, "because of the permissive environment for terrorism that the Syrian government has fostered.”
Most U.S. intelligence estimates are that the overwhelming majority of foreign fighters reach Syria "by flying into Damascus International Airport, making the airport the central hub of al-Qaida travel in the Middle East, and the most vulnerable chokepoint in al-Qaida’s war against Iraq and the U.S. in Iraq.”
That airport has also long been the central transit point for Iranian weapons intended for Hezbollah, Lieberman writes in the Journal.
The Connecticut Senator declares it is "time to demand that the Syrian regime stop playing travel agent for al-Qaida in Iraq,” and he says the U.S. government should develop a range of options to take against Damascus International if the Syrian government does not take appropriate action soon.
One option, he said, would be to ask "responsible air carriers” that fly there, such as Alitalia and British Airways, to stop flights into Damascus International.
Lieberman concludes: "Simply put, for the U.S. and our Iraqi allies, defeating al-Qaida in Iraq means locking shut Syria's ‘Open Door’ policy to terrorists. It is past time for Syria to do so.”

No one is attempting to dispute your right to your own opinions, independent or otherwise. Perhaps, were you to join the blog, and post some of those 'independent" opinions, you would find that they would be accepted just as well as are others.
On the other hand, where are your "indpendent" opinions? The bulk of the postings here are certainly the kind made by those who use the, "You-hate-Bush", response to almost all dissent from the Republican propaganda positions. And those few who do attempt to post using rational judgment and polite wordings have to put up with a goodly number of those for whom the only presentation possible is that of insult - generally directed at Democrats, "liberals", or "socialists", as the favorite targets for "Republican" venom.
Do come down off your own self-righteous pedestal, and see if you enjoy walking in the sewer of the usual run of "Republican" postings, before you condemn others for trying to stay above that.
Posted by Old Grouch on August 23, 2007 11:44 AMKeith, (aka Child left behind) Al Qaeda is not in Iraq or anywhere else because Al Qaeda does not exist and never has. Al Qaeda, named after a Mujaahudeen computer program, is a manufactured enemy who was created by the Bush Administration in order to have an excuse to wage a war for the control of the world's oil resources. Bush uses Al Qaeda to label any Middle Eastern fighter as an enemy and that allows his administration to attack anybody that appears to be related to this unprovable organized enemy. It is a hoax and a public relations stunt. The Bush family has a long history of business relations with the Bin Laden family and Bush senior has vacationed with the the Bin Laden family. Bush is a crook, just like his dad and his grandfather Prescott Bush, who lost his job with The Union Banking Corporation of New York, for supporting Adolph HItler. However, when the Trading With The Enemy's Act closed down the Union Bank, he walked away with $1.5 million and that was enough for the Bush family to move from social climber status into a nice pad in Kennibunkport, Maine.
