Bill Johnson and New Orleans
Friday, August 31 at 2:00 PM

Pat Desrosiers of Denver writes:

Dear Mr. Johnson: Interesting column on the devastation that greeted you in Nawlins. This doesn’t surprise anyone and is in stark contrast to the progress made so far in Mississippi. NOLA was a corrupt crime and poverty infested Third World hellhole run by tinpot Democrats before the hurricane. This is what they face down there. A few bullet points, since you completely missed what we term “root causes".
Mayor Ray “Chocolate City” Nagin and Governor Kathleen Blnco were given millions in federal dollars to fix the levees. The cash was “diverted” to other purposes (perhaps stolen outright) and the city was left vulnerable Five days of warnings of a direct hit by a Cat Five storm were ignored. Hundreds of city school busses could have been used to evacuate the most vulnerable residents, many of whom subsequently died. Offers of federal help prior to the storm’s landfall were rebuffed by the “leaders” down there.
It’s no wonder the government is blamed for the lack of progress; many in the Crescent City have sucked on the government teat their entire lives. Nola remains the murder capital of the U.S. and the illegitimacy rate is 80%. Our home offices and plant are down there and employees from Colorado there on business have been robbed at gunpoint.
Icing on the cake: We have the amazing Barney Frank stating that President Bush has engaged in “ethnic cleansing” by allowing the levees to break and flood the city. I wonder why I moved from Massachusetts, let me count the reasons.... The gall of these folks is incredible and I believe that if they were Republicans you might actually read some of this in the paper.

How many of the politicians in NOLA had freezers like William Jeffers???

By the way, anyone heard anything about this dirty politicain lately? Have his fellow representatives called for him to toe the line and resign yet?

Of course you haven't heard anything about our esteemed corrupt representative from down south. He is, after all, a democrat and there's nothing to be gained politically by exposing "one of the chosen". They have taken the posture of ignoring it, and therefore, it's not true. After all, only Republican's are corrupt -- Democrat's sh** don't stink.

Did they mention the fact that the city of New Orleans has already been given $128,000,000,000.00 dollars to rebuild?
That is 128 with a B as in BILLION.

jAY

The money provided to date has been given to the State of Louisiana. So far, according to a recent report by Associated Press, only 35% of that has been "filtered" to New Orleans. It appears as if there is still a coordination between the state and local politicals post Katrina as there was just prior to Katrina.

And - no one has added the fact that is a folly to rebuild there even if it were to be successful!

Just for clarification, when Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans it was a catagory 3 storm, not a 5. The majority of deaths that occurred were due to the failure of the levy. The Army Corps of Engineers warned about the inevitablity of this failure and requested funds to avoid the failure but, instead, their budget was cut. Infrastructure problems were the cause, not the storm.

Rep. Tancredo striikes again. Today, he stated the federal gov't should stop funding NOLA's reconstruction. He didn't have the requisite "stones" to say this when he attended the recent NAACP prez debates. Tancredo's skills in shafting blacks were honed in his congressional district. I served in 3 deployments to Vietnam, while Tancredo sat at home feigning he was "crazy". Former congressman BoPeep didn't go to Vietnam because he couldn't "FART".

Tancredo has a history of hiring criminal illegal Mexicans to work at his primary residence. Also in a violation of congressional ethics, Tancredo illegally interferred into the deportation of Duane "Dog" Chapman (white man) to Mexico for kidnapping charges. Dog is a convicted felon and like Tommy "T", a Vietnam draft dodger.

Tancredo has violated my civil and constitutional rights. He has allowed the Denver SBA, Colorado Enterprise Fund, and social security administration to violate my rights also.

centennial...

Tancredo hired a WHITE AMERICAN BORN contractor to finish his basement. The CONTRACTOR hired put a couple of illegals on the job without Tancredos knowledge or permission. Quit twisting the truth to make your points.

Still looking for the free government cheese?

Also, Tancredo was one of 34 Congressmen who supported Chapman.

I hope Tancredo gets voted out next election - but, I won't make up lies to smear him.

Keep crying...some fool in government will throw you a freebie someplace.

Pat, I see you have done your researched and found out the facts. But you left out that the police found out a gay escort business was being ran out of Barney Frank's house in D.C.He claim he didn't know what was happening in his own house and got away with it.Check on it Craig haters.
