CO labor-friendly not business-friendly
So Gov. Ritter and the Democrats have put the world on notice that a new labor-friendly day has dawned in Colorado, which means that Colorado has become considerably less business-friendly. Rest assured that the business world has received this notice and will pass on Colorado when looking for locations for new operations. As far as I have been able to figure, businesses create jobs, not organized labor. The adverse impact on the Colorado economy will be noticeable.

The cost of political power is great -- and the public pays for it. Big business or big labor, they both purchase clout.

Have you considered moving?
Posted by on August 28, 2007 05:18 PMYou honestly believe that ritter and the rest of the labor boys in the State Congress put workers first? No a snowball chance in hell. If it was not for certain activists representing the workers in Colorado we would now be a closed shop state. Workers would be scrambeling to join a union in order to work. Ritter is all for closeing shops and supportiung big unions over the individual worker. DO NOT THINK ANYTHING OTHER THEN THIS.
Posted by on August 28, 2007 05:27 PMLets not forget Gov. Owens role. He's the one that invited tens of thousands of illegals to flood Colorado and to lower wages. I see NO ONE on the side of the workers that built Colorado, not even its citizens.

"Poverty in Colorado is up and incomes are down slightly, indicating the state still is recovering from the recession of the early 2000s, new census figures suggest. "
Let me get this straight.... Policy can either be labor friendly or business friendly, but never the twain shall meet?

Posted by Pam on August 29, 2007 12:54 PMAnthony in case you havent noticed, Businesses have been outsourcing labor for theklast 10 years in Colorado. Busineses kep their offices here but send wor overseas where workers get a bowl of rice and a dime for a days work. When the 3rd World nations take over theire plants they expect the US Army to go over and protect them with the kids who joined because they couldnt find work. Screw the Businesses!
Posted by Pro Labor on August 30, 2007 07:17 AMHey Pro Labor has it ever dawned on you that the unions tactics of requiring the best to be paid the same as the worst may have an impact on why businesses ship their labor overseas? I suspect not.
Yeah let's screw the businesses - I suppose you don't work for one either - do you?(including your own) You probably designed and built your own car, built your own house with all products you manufactured yourself, generate your own electricity, drill and refine your own fuel, etc. Yes lets screw the businesses and then you would be out of everything you need to function in life.
Hey Jack, the unions started for one reason..American Business will always attempt to screw labor. If they cant screw Americans, they will screw the rest of the world. How much profit is enough? How can you justify million and in some case billion dollar salaries for inept CEOs? I worked for HP, not a unionworker in that company or most hi-tech businesses, didnt stop them from screwing the employees though and shipping the jobs overseas.
I am guessing you have yours so screw the world, eh?
