Fix America first
Thursday, August 16 at 1:34 PM

Robert H. Moulton III of Commerce City writes:

Instead of continuing to spend millions and millions of dollars on Iraq’s roads, schools and bridges, how about fixing ours for a change? The serious neglect of our own infrastructure will only create further tragedies, like the one that just occurred in Minnesota. When will our own people come first?

Robert - to be more specific, approximately $20 BILLION supposed "reconstruction" money has "Gone Missing" in Iraq. Iraqis now have at best an hour of electricity a day, and water is tightly rationed.

Before Bush's illegal, fraudulant invasion of Iraq, it was a modern country, with people in cities like Baghdad enjoying most of the goodies we have here in the United States. Granted, there were many people living in 3rd world conditions, and Saddam Hussein was a ruthless, capricious, perverted dictator who made life hell for many of his subjects. But he was just a petty dictator-crook [like his buddies in the Bush clan], and had none of the world domination aspirations of the corporate vipers that have taken control of Western Civilization.

Bush's war of choice is a ruse, to hide the looting of U.S. funds into the pockets of his cronies, Halliburton, Brown & Root, and Blackwater USA, a private army owned by fundamentalist "Christians."

The Neocon dream of strangling the Federal Government [googlewiki: Grover Norquist] benefits greatly from allowing the infrastructure [socialism, they would call it] to fall apart. Part of their plan to implement feudalism on the North American continent requires subjugating 'regular people,' and letting the roads and drinking water systems deteriorate is a great first step. [see: The Blue Death: Disease, Disaster, and the Water We Drink, by Dr. Robert D. Morris]

Your point is well taken, however it makes the Necons chuckle, and doesn't fit with their plans at all. To Republicans, the "our own people" you refer to are sub-humans, Liberals, hippies, socialists, feminazis, gays, Democrats, or worse.

Rest assured, the fix is in - unless you have a black helicopter of your own, in a few years you'll be back in the stone age - the Federal highway system we take for granted will be history. [Satellite surveillance of individuals will be first rate, though, of course...]

I do agree that the Bush administration will continue to pilfer our treasury as long as we let them...

Hilarious bit on tv the other day..

Seems like alot of our military equipment (bombs, guns, etc) has gone missing in Iraq.

The point of the bit was that now we know for sure that there are at least some weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. We brought them there and lost them.

RMN -- please remove this letter from the website and the resulting posts. They make me uncomfortable. And that is a very unAmerican thing to do.

Dravur,
Don't look now, but you've already bought stock in Reynolds Aluminum, and Raytheon, and Haliburton, and GE. and lots of other war profiteers...oops, I mean defense contractors.
You have invested your tax dollars for years, you just won't get the same dividends ithat Bush clan and their elite friends do.
Congratulations, you're a good God-fearing, terrorist-fearing American!
Just what the neo-CONS envisioned.

And the war continues.
