Judge facing ‘justice of the highest order’
I’m not troubled by Judge Edward Nottingham’s personal problems, despite having witnessed him berate attorneys for the smallest of errors when I’ve represented clients in cases before him.
Nor do I agree with legal analyst Scott Robinson who said Nottingham’s actions were contrary to the code of conduct for federal judges (“Federal judge ‘ashamed’ of actions,” Aug. 10).
Nottingham is accused of only three things — all of which probably present more embarrassment than grounds for judicial misconduct charges — as follows: having spent a lot of money at a strip club while possibly being inebriated; having visited and paid for access to a pornographic Web site; and having shown his wife images from the porn site while in his chambers.
Given what we know at this time, there’s little direct implication for his role on the bench. But what I find most disturbing is that it always seems to be the conservative and seemingly righteous whose pornographic and sexual peccadilloes become public. Maybe that is justice of the highest order.
John Zodrow, Denver
Judge Nottingham is a secular priest not a spiritual priest. Were he a mouthpiece for god you could go after him for raping little boys. For Zodrow to be troubled by the Judge's personal problems is like calling the pot black because the kettle considers itself chartreuse. Perhaps I am prejudiced.
The Judge overturned bankruptcy judge Brook's contempt finding and his $1000 fine against me all predicated on Brook's violation of the rules that governs his conduct.
I'll chimmy on down to the strip club with His Honor and view his monitor. I've been through divorce. I'm not troubled by His Honor's exemplary and secular conduct.

I revisit Zodrow's letter and find he is not troubled by His Honor's personal problems. Sorry Zod. I went past the "not" however, I'll concur with you on analyst Robinson's common sense a.k.a. bias and prejudice. It is Rob who should take a hike. He is the kettle colored chartreuse. It is the first mistake of my life.

I wonder why we haven't heard from the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association about
the press Judge Nottingham is enjoying?
After their outcry about Judge Manzaneras,
their silence now.......is deafening.
Judge Not is an unlikeable person. That's why he pays for the attention of strippers. It doesn't have anything to do with his job. His ex-wife is grinding her axe.
They belong together and should rethink the divorce.
Posted by Whocares? on August 15, 2007 01:10 PMRG, I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
Posted by Sharon B. on August 15, 2007 01:37 PMYo Sharon B. the one whose first mistake was not seducing me; however, it is not too late. Being a Grimes I tried to fashion a rhyme.
