Leniency for dogs
Having just read Rick Maese’s call for leniency for Michael Vick (Hot Topic, Aug. 22), I suggest the Baltimore Sun writer visit a few organized dogfights. Surely, Vick can direct him to the appropriate persons.
After viewing this heinous, bloody “sport” and the subsequent culling of the losers by hanging them, slitting their throats or beating them to death, I would hope Maese would issue a call for leniency for these animals.
Vick supported — and probably enjoyed — a to-the-death bloodsport and made a profit. So, leniency for Vick and throw the dogs in the garbage? Would Maese also support the legal revival of gladiatorial combat and then say, don’t mess with that rabid sect of humanitarians?

Hey now that really is a good idea. Gladiatorial games for neo cons. We can let them get in the ring spar to the death. Or we can put those condemd to death for murder (if anyone is ever sentanced like that again) in the ring and let them go at it. I am sure libs wouldn't object to that.

This is s guy who killed his dogs by hanging, electrocuting and shooting them because they lost at dog fighting. This is a guy who enjoyed watching suffering and death as entertainment. This is not a guy who should be idolized by kids. He is a good example of the brutality of the human animal.
Posted by BG on August 28, 2007 07:25 AMHey, maybe Vick and OJ can hang out. Vick needs some tips to go from sicko to sociopath.
Posted by CWW on August 28, 2007 09:26 AMI saw Michael Vick on TV apologizing for his actions and it was nothing short of nauseating.
This jerk is sorry for no other reason than he got caught. It's amazing how these guys have the world by the rear end and are too stupid to know it.
He was cold, brutal and without conscience.
His feet should never touch a football field again. He should sit in jail and figure out how he screwed up a multi-million dollar career and how he's going to have to make a real living now.
Talk about throwing it all away.......
