More discretion with war info.
Wednesday, August 22 at 2:00 PM

John Valliant of Wheat Ridge writes:

This evening I was watching the 10PM news and they spoke of an announcement by General Petraeus in Baghdad where he stated that there would be a reduction of troops from the surge starting sometime around September 2008. I wish that our government would rethink its position on announcing troop movements during a war. I understand that the public wants to know what’s going on and the press certainly wants to have a story, but I don’t think that this sort of information should be stated so publically. During World War II, there was the expression “loose lips sink ships” regarding troop movements. This expression should still be applied today.
If we reveal to our enemies what our intentions are, they will make their plans accordingly. When the plan for the surge was originally announced, the enemy made their plans and moved most of their operations outside of Baghdad (witness the massacre that occured in the Kurdish territories the other day). These murderers are like cockroaches; when you turn on the floodlight of information, they scatter to the four corners and wait until the lights go out so they can move right back in and I am sure that is what is going to happen in this case. We need to be a bit more discreet in our mission if we truly want to be successful.

Damn straight John,

The dominant liberal media, aided by their dem coherts, have not only outright published highly classified information but ,more harmfully, have consistently pushed any angle that portrays Bush and America as the bad guys in this very real war on militant Islam.

Imagine that during WW2 you had the fourth estate burying stories of American soldiers bravery and valor , accomplishments and progress ,and instead , salivating like Pavlovian dogs to over-report unsubstantiated claims of ANY possible U.S. indiscretions and glowing reports on how Hitler was really a swell guy and the extermination of Jews is plausible if looking at it from their perspective.

Remember when Hollywood wasn't full of barking anti- American moonbats bent on trying to "understand our enemies " and would produce films supporting our soldiers in a time of war and not portraying them as whacked out baby killers?

What, if back then, a majority of our schools favored a curriculum heavy on our countries few low points and light on the overwhelming positive contributions to mankind and the entire world we have made?

If the crap going on now was happening then-

We would all be speaking German.

John, it can not be more obvious,

the dems don't want a successful mission-

Their politics are more important than their OWN COUNTRY!

WHAT IS GOOD FOR AMERICA IS BAD FOR THE DEMS!

Loose lips, sink ships. Former Chief, JCS, Gen. Tommy Franks wife, sat-it on a "Top-Secret" military briefing, and no one complained. When told of this national security violation, DoD Secy. Rummy blew it off.

CULL the herd of federal elected felons, on both sides of the political aisle (baby-boomers). In 1977, President Jimmy "GOP irrelevant" Carter, pardoned (amnesty) all Vietnam War draft-dodgers. He didn't pardon UCMJ-felons (Awolee, deserter, and guilty of illegal separation and discharge) like "W'" and Judge Alito.

Draft-dodging is a felony offense. No one in the US Congress has ever declared on either their state or federal election application forms, they are "pardoned" felons. Most of these warriors "perjured" their election application question, "have you ever committed or were ever convicted of a felony offense"? None answered "YES". Down right scary is these warriors also perjured this question on their sensitive military security clearance applications too.

What a great idea!! Don't let on to the Iraqi government when we might leave so it will continue to rely on our being there and continue to do nothing.
