Ritter not to blame
Monday, August 20 at 12:01 AM

I think it’s unfair to blame Gov. Bill Ritter for his stand on not drilling in the Vermillion Basin (“Governor takes heat for stand on drilling,” July 26).
I think the Colorado voters should take the heat. What did we expect? We hired a person who worked most of his adult life in a government job, never owned a business or served on a corporation’s board, and we made him CEO of the largest corporation in Colorado, so to speak.
It’s no wonder he looks for spiritual feelings to make decisions. However, someone should warn him there are good and bad spirits!

a good CEO would consult experts in the field before making a decission. Doing so on feelings will get you the blame.

Doing things on perceived devine spiritual intervention is the exact thing that has destroyed freedom throughout history. Rational, resonable thought and investigation of all evidence and information is bypassed, proof to the contrary is ignored, the best interests of the people are negated and, all in the name of something that might be the result of a bad feeling created by a bad buritto or a poor nights sleep.

Does anyone see the complete loss of sanity this represents? Are we retrogressing to the times when shamanism, soothsayer's predictions and oracal's visions dictated every societal action.

My God people, this is not just a slip of the tounge, it is a statement from the top authroity, the leader of our state that he relies on arcane and ethereal means to make decissions that effect the livelihood and future of the people.

Anyone who would accept this as valid would accept the rightness of the 13th century inquisition.

OUT OF BOUNDS....

ANWR is out of bounds, 85% of the outer continental shelf is out of bounds, the Vermillion is out of bounds, the Roan is out of bounds, new refieries have been out of bounds for 30 years, new nuke power plants have been out of bounds for 30 years, our 250 year supply of coal is largely out of bounds. We are awash in energy that is all out of bounds.

Can Ritter put $5.00 at the pump out of bounds too? Can Ritter put inflation out of bounds? Can Ritter put higher business costs out of bounds? Can Ritter put slowing economic growth and fewer jobs out of bounds? Has Ritter already put common sense out of bounds?

In case Hank hasn't noticed, the energy boom in Colorado is gas, not oil. And, if you have noticed the Western coal business, it's booming...rail transportation not supply is the bottleneck. You could drill everyone of the places he mentions and history has be crystal clear that it won't lower the price of gasoline or keep it from rising. The rape of Colorado has nothing to do with consumers and everything to do with making a few big companies richer at our expense...we take the damage and pay higher and higher prices. Grow up.

Hank, I assume your last statement is a rhetorical question, yes? To answer anyway; if Ritter can determine by arcane and ethereal means that utilizing Vermillion resources does not meet with devine spiritual agreement, I don't doubt he can use the same means to do all you suggest needs done.

Good reply to Hank by Walter. As usual Hank wants to blame everyone but those really responsible for the energy crunch. Colorado. He ignores oil companies awash in record profits. Besides, Colorado's "oil" footprint is microscopic in it's effect oin oil prices. Hank also hasn't noticed that the cost of gasoline is hardly controlled by his favorite target to blame.

Ritter is to blame insofar as he made a unilateral decision, based strictly on non empirical fact, without at least consulting with the local elected officials. He ran roughshod over years of study and planning without evaluating that work product.

If, after receiving his epiphany, he had called for a review and discussion of the multi year work product compiled by the local elected officials and industry experts, and still arrived at his present position, I would at least feel that Moffat Country would have had an opportunity for a fair hearing.

As it stands now it has the strong odor of a political decision based on appeasement to a special interest group utilizing an unjustified unilateral pronouncement of authoritarian power. We get enough of that crap out of Washington.

Our local elected leaders should be more responsive and provide open, fair hearings and evaluation of projects directly effecting the people involved. There is no justification for rejecting years of work and planning in an offhand manner.

Let's not forget what the corned based ethanol spiritual vision is doing to the price of everything from beer to birdseed to tortillas. California has the highest gas cost and at least double the electricity price of Colorado. Yes, by all means let's follow them of the bridge. The head of Ritter's PUC was, surprise surprise, a founding member of Colorado's environmental mafia, the WRA.

I knew Ritter was a Catholic but so was his opponent and both, like Bush, had this evil spook called Jesus Christ acting as their Ipod translating the Vatican's mandates as when the Catholic cabal on the Supreme Court received their orders to demolish half of the Wall that separates Church and State.

Bush can give $billions of tax dollars to the Jew from the "loins of David" and if a Muslim ever becomes President he can do the same with his Arab god. If Mitt Romney becomes President he can channel $billions into the Mormon coffer.

There are no good and bad spirits in religion; they are all bad and extremely evil and all living in the abode of the human brain. All spooks exist only in the human brain and no place else since all life forms are essentially and totally the same: They eat, sleep, have babies, and die.

Bush's Ipod spoke into Bush's ear in excess of two dozen times and the results are horrific. Does Ritter have his Ipod full blast?

Deicide Corner: “That not adhering to those notions Reason dictates (concerning the nature of God), has been the occasion of all superstition, and those innumerable mischiefs that mankind (on account of religion) have done to themselves or to one another.”

Gov Ritter has a verry bad gastro-intestinal problem NO GUTS. He is way too worried he will be labled a "sellout".

Since he has experienced such a terrible personal tragedy, we'll give Richard a pass for his rantings (although maybe he would want to change his posting name to "Richard's Religious Rant"

Here is a scientific and philosophical question for you Mr. Grimes.

If energy can be neither created nor destroyed, what do you suppose happens to human energy once it is no longer contained within the biological trappings of human form?

And, ipod is ALWAYS a small i

Ritter is a typical politician. He will constantly sell out his fiduciary responsibilities to the people of Colorado for political gain with special interest groups. This time he joined with our ethically challenged Ken Salazar to appease the environmental groups.

And you have to remember that he has his own version of Karl Rove on his staff to coordinate the "auctions" for political favors in Evan Dreyer -- a smooth talking conman and master of spin.

Don't expect integrity and fair play from the Ritter administration. It doesn't matter if there's a D or R behind the name of a politician; he's corrupt and only looking out for his own agenda.

The carbon in humans (as in all matter) remains intact and takes a different form which may be inorganic or take up residence in outer space, in some other planet, in a comet, in an asteroid. This is the only hereafter humans can take to the bank. Thanks for asking. Thanks for the "i" info. I live and learn.

Human form is the clothes I ware, all else is not physical material. That there is a spiritual existence but, I have not yet been able to grasp how it works. There is the true adventure, to find out who you really are and what purpose you serve. All who do not know this are exempt from any understanding it. This is just as it should be for knowledge is a dangerous thing in the hands of those who know everything.

Mr. DeFord, good and bad spirits for sure. You would be one of the bad as, Gov. Ritter is attempting to look out for your future as well as your childrens or, others children.

The time has come for us as a society to look for alternative fuels. As a mechanic for over thiry years I can tell you that there are other forms of energy out there that we can use. Rather than, protecting the filling of pockets of those in the energy industry that only want to perpetuate their astronomical profits off of our backs. You don't get it sir.

Adolf Diesel introduced his engine at the 1892 worlds fair that ran on peanut oil. Guess you were unaware of that fact! Imagine the farmers of our country producing peanut oil and others that the trucking industry could use to make their deliveries! Imagine what such action would do for our economy. Nahh!, lets just continue to be gouged by the oil industry!

Yeah, right!
