Rosen restless, but not yet fully awake
Rocky Mountain News columnist Mike Rosen is finally waking up (“Republicans face tough road,” July 27), but only slightly. He concedes a possible loss in 2008, but is concerned about the survival of our nation under an upcoming Democratic administration. Many people are expressing this concern for our nation, its laws and the Constitution under this administration.
In his column he acknowledges that the Republican Party can “use their power to royally screw things up.” He actually used this phrase to describe what the Democrats will do if they win in 2008, probably not even realizing that his party is doing it right now.
He has been carrying the water for this Republican administration since its beginning. When you do this because they are Republicans, regardless of what their policies are, you deserve what you get.
He accuses the Democrats of not wanting improvements in Iraq, when, what they actually tried to do, is bring our troops home while they are still alive and in one piece. President Bush vetoed this attempt.
Rosen is such a party hack he has even adopted the misspelling of the word “Democratic,” using instead the grammatically incorrect noun form “Democrat” as an adjective. Anything for the party!

It will be a total disaster if the corrupted democrats get in.But already the dems. are losing steam, people with the IQ over 71 are realizing they are a bunch of self serving liars.
Posted by Keith on August 23, 2007 12:36 AMgee mary you are such a dumocrat party hack as you defend everything they do.
Please tell us what wonderful things they have done since they took control in 06? all of their polls show their approval is the lowest it has ever been. even your girl hillary said the surge was working in Iraq.
I will stand on knowing what the democrats have always done. talk big about fixing everything and only raising taxes so they can have more money to waste on worthless programs and they will never fix their biggest cause to fix for years, social security. It is working well they told us when the GOP wanted to fix it, but in 08 if they win it will be broken.
Interesting....Mary calls Rosen a Republican Hack, but cannot see herself for what she is... a Democrat Shill. At least Rosen, who is an opinion columnist and not a reporter, admits where his biases lie. Unlike the silly leftists on various "News" organizations.
So, what improvements do the Dems want? oh yes, the strategy of cut and run... and look what the did for Vietnam. Re-education camps, millions dying...... but that's just alright for Mary. In her world, there are no unintended consequences. Just a rosy world where puppies play and she can keep her head buried deep in the sand.
Look up what John Kerry said about the Vietnamese Re-education camps.... awwww, they were okey dokey and lots of people made it out ok from them.... yet he has a kitten over Guantanimo? Seems kind of hypocritical. Oh yeah, He's a Dem,
Posted by Dravur on August 23, 2007 07:12 AMDravur,
Ditto my friend...Mary seems to be a "re-education camp" graduate as so many here are. Just how is coming home from Iraq spreading freedom in the Middle East? I haven't got that one figured out yet.
Come on by the Opinions and Editorials forum, we could use some of your insight and humor over there.
Dravur you hit on a point that the lieftist can not understand. That a conservative can be an opinion commetator with out being a reporter. This is why they hate fox so. They are not smart enough to see the differances in the shows even when they are announced before the show gets underway on who is reporting news and who is commentaing on the news.
Only those who are left leaning and bias are reporters.
The leftists still think that France is a model of society. Even though France is implementing massive sweeps of change. Immigration reform and deportations of illegals. A renewed military buildup, and pressure to the United nations on enforceing international common sense rule.
Correctly out mary is a shill for leftists and socialists alike. They want to live under government rule and be taken care of without any personal resposibility of thier own. It is easier to be told how to think and act then to do it on ones own.
Rosen says it like he sees it. Not always as it is,but he is an oped writer. unike Littwin who wants us to believe his opeds are all news and the truth.
Posted by on August 23, 2007 07:32 AMAnd the Rethugs are what ? Perhaps you can express some views on that question Keith, or are you reluctant to admit the truth.
Poster at 05:42AM, please get your facts straight. The Dems took control in January of 07. They did not "take" control in 06, but I'm sure that l
you could not possibly understand this being a Rethug . I know it is easier to repeat what you have hear, rather than take the time to think for lyourself.
Invading Iraq may or may not have been the best choice at the time and other decisions made by the admistration, since the invasion, have been questionable in hindsight, but now that we are there success is imperative.
The Democrats have a huge investment in failure; not because they want America to fail but simply to make President Bush to fail.
To most people the welfare of the nation at large would seem to trump party politics.

more sarcasm from Keith, now that I realize he isn't serious he is just cracking me up
Posted by just sayin' on August 23, 2007 09:24 AMCould we refrain from name calling, it is the lowest common denominator and gets in the way of thought. I know many intellegent Democrates. They are no more or less intellegent than the Republicans. And they are not represented by their party leadership just as are the Republicans. We have some serious issues and the debate should be as Americans. Let's disagree thoughfully and with respect. Have at me.
Posted by Tom on August 23, 2007 10:33 AMYou mean we could have surpluses like our last democratic precident? My god what will will do?
Posted by larry on August 23, 2007 11:27 AMAgain larry doesn't know the facts. It was the Republican congress led by hopefully our next president Newt Gingrich.Even though clinton veto it twice the republicans force it through. That surplus disappear because of clinton's incompetence as commander in chief.Get it!
Posted by Keith on August 23, 2007 12:07 PMKeith, isn't it time for your nap? I think so because you don't seem to know how to make your absurd point anymore, Get some rest, every thing will be alright tomorrow. I promise. If you stay nice, I'll bring you a puppy for Christmass. all my best, Santa Claus

Posted by Allen Campbell on August 23, 2007 02:00 PMThe best defense for Mike Rosen is to see what Mike Rosen is defending, mainly a decrepit, corrupt, morally bankrupt and broke political party. However, Mike is excellent at his job, he could make a pile of fresh feces look like a fresh peach through his writings.
Posted by Sean on August 23, 2007 05:46 PMLets end all of this 2 party crap. Lets shake the world. Lets send a message to the powers that be that "WE ARE MAD AS HELL AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE".
Elect Ron Paul, who is hated by the Republicans, but not loved by the Democrats either. He is the only man or woman in Congress who is a true Constitutional servant. Join the revolution and stop voting for the lesser of 2 evils and vote to same the USA.
A Vote for Ron Paul is a vote for liberty.
save the usa, not same
