On 9/11/01, Vice President Dick Cheney, as Director of Defense, was in command of the armed forces exercise ‘Vigilant Warrior’ in a bunker beneath the White House. He had issued a stand down directive to the Air Force.
Testifying before the 9/11 commission, Norman Mineta, Secretary of Transportation reported that Dick Cheney maintained that stand down order while the object that hit the Pentagon was reported to him as approaching.
Incredibly the central command post of the wealthiest, army in the world was hit by a known tracked object! The Pentagon happened to be struck in an area vacated because of a construction project. It had recently been hardened against a missile attack (AP). The object was likely a good test of the hardening. After the object hit the pentagon the stand down was likely lifted. This may explain why the 4th plane reported hijacked seemed to vaporize at the crash site.
Though the Pentagon has over 300 cameras around it and though a video camera at a gas station nearby had recorded a good view of the incident and had turned its video over to government authorities when they asked (AP), the Pentagon could only produced 4 fuzzy pictures of the event. In the days following, the Pentagon understandably became like a kicked hornets nest, eager for retaliation (AP).

It appears that 2:48, late night radio and Dick Rove have not actually read the governments official 9/11 Commission Report and have simply formed their opinion of the 9/11 events from the corporate newspaper reports and TV news.

John Hoffmann is correct that informed people make better choices. To be informed requires examination of both the governments 9/11 conspiracy theory as well as the alternative theories that do not agree with what the govenment claims to be true about the 9/11 event.

William demonstrates in his support of the conspirocy theories that he has no clue as to how our government is inept. Even if we had one of the beloved lefts socalled leaders. there is no way an inside job could have been kept a secret. our government is too full of buerocrates (?). Please show us any other high rise building in world history that collapsed before or after 9/11 that was claimed to havedone so because of fire. If truth of a matter is to be known, an investigation of ALL the evidence and information must be accomplished in an objective and open minded way. Only then can false claims be debunked and factual truth be established. Political preferences, philosophical and religious beliefs have no place in that process and would only serve to make the findings of truth questionable.

All to often, those who seek truth don't ask the right questions because their minds refuse to believe that which they hold dear may be wrong. When that is compounded by political agendas, the truth becomes secondary to that agenda and, in time, the evidence seems to get lost, misplaced or becomes top secret information denied to the public.

If the truth is to be known it must be known quickly, otherwise it will never be fully known.

Have you ever seen the aftermath of a home fire that was intense near the kitchen or furnace? The metal there is mishappen and deformed from the heat (heat = fire).

No High School Grad, I disagree with your foolish thoery and actually now believe you cheated to get a G.E.D. and are just pretending to be a person who got high in High School and did not pay attention.

Physics Professor Stephen Jones has proved that jet fuel, which is Kerosene, cannot burn hot enough to cause a 110 story steel and concrete framed high rise structure to collapse and that fire has never before or after 9/11 caused this to happen.

Excuse me High School Grad but fire has never caused a commercial high rise building to collapse. What caused the WTC Towers to collapse was not fire.

Now compare the oxygen starved fires of WTC buildings 1 and 2 that were nearly out before the fake collapse. And then try to explain WTC 7 collapse with several small fires and no airplane to help the collapse look real from fires.

Compare the weak 9/11 fires to real ones that did not cause collapse in other structures.

Oh my God--I can't believe the stupidity on this page!

Evil terrorists who are out to destroy our country and anyone who doesn't believe their barbaric version of Islam, drove airplanes at high speed through the towers, the Pentagon and crashed into a field in PA while their real target was probably the White House.

And you want to blame this on our government? How sick are you people? They, I am SURE, are getting a real rise out of the small segment of people in this country who spit this garbage like lunatics.

If you have followed the explanation of how the towers collapsed, of which I have seen several times, and architects have, stage by stage, illustrated the collapse, you would not be the uninformed nut you are.

I don't know all the architectural terms, but in so many words the steel beams were coated with a foam-like material for fire resistance. Upon impact the coating was knocked off and the beams that supported the center of the building melted from the intense fire from the jet fuel, thus the collapse.

Do you not have anything to keep your simple mind occupied that you have to make up something so stupid?

C, many architects and engineers do not agree with the governments fairytale conspiracy theory. The twin towers, below the 70th floors at least had zero structural damage and Newtons laws of physics "Conservation of Momentum" show that the these loewer floors would have offered enough resistance to slow down the speed of fall. But they did not and these 110 story buildings could not possibly have collapsed in 10 seconds without the assistance of explosives.

The law of physics cannot change and become different just because the government trys to convince you that that is possibe. This is not a stupid assumption and calling people names that disagree with you reflects your mental disability.
