Hypocritical critic
Rocky Mountain News media critic Jason Salzman exhausts half of his column scolding reporters for not meeting his standard of what constitutes the whole story when covering conservatives (“Reporters should pin ’em down,” On the Media, Sept. 15). Then, in his very next topic, “Syndicated pundits,” he fails to identify Media Matters for America as one of the most notorious anti-conservative media-review groups in America.
That this group chooses to be biased is none of my business. It is my business, as a subscriber, when a local media critic lectures a reporter for allegedly not getting the whole story, then fails to tell the whole story himself by withholding relevant information about the background of his polling sources.

all the journalism schools in america teach their students one thing, "the truth doesn't matter just get the story out"
Posted by on September 22, 2007 01:08 AMJason is right on. The media fears the truth. Case-in-point, Bush is a bonafide UCMJ-felon (40+ years AWOLee-deserter). The American people and the media lack, the resquisite backbone to hold Bush to account. As cowards, we have delegated this duty to Dan Rather. Millions of veterans know Bush went "over-the-hill". Some vets are dumber than others. The Swift-Boat-Sailors-for-the-nonTruth is a classic example. Rove, Cheney, and Bush (draft dodgers, surrender monkeys, defeatist, and communist-siders), pimped and exploited these Swifty clowns, into smearing US Sen. John F. Kerry (NAM hero), Kerrey (lost a leg in NAM), Daschle, Cleland (triple NAM amputee), McCain (NAM POW), etc. Flying under the AWOLee and deserter radar, is Supreme Court Judge Alito. Like "W", he too blew off his military obligation Alito pimped and exploited taxpayers (US Army ROTC) for 7 years of college education (JD/undergraduate degrees) and never served a day of his 11 years military service obligation. We can solve some of America's problems by culling the herd of elected and appointed, GOP felons.
I cahllenge Percy Conarroe and anyone else operating with "backbone", to contact Allard and Tancredo (draft dodging cowards too), and asked them why they scuttled the UCMJ felony charges that I filed with them, agaisnt Bush. Allard and Tancredo violated a host of federal laws, by not giving those UCMJ felony charges to the US Congress, US Court of Military Appeals, and DoD Secy. Rumsfeld. Allard and Tancredo's criminal conduct meets the criteria of "high crimes and misdemeanors". Call Tommy and Waynes' World.

One guy served 5 years and drove a warplane; the other served 2 mo. and drove a motorboat. Who is the draft dodger?

Posted by Tony on September 22, 2007 08:20 AMHey GG, guess being shot at in a war at makes you less of a man than never seeing battle and flying a plane that was being retired.
Conservatives also love to bash people who have been in war but lionize those who didn't.

Posted by Keith on September 22, 2007 09:26 AMJournalists today don't wan't to do the work. They go to websites that are slanted and biased for the story they are writing about.
That is where they get their information.
What a waste of college money.
Posted by Can I get an AMEN! on September 22, 2007 09:49 AMWe decry the sloppiness in reporting and opining in the media yet, we fail to understand what is at the bottom of the problem. It consists of several things. The first is that all of the media is governed by one thing, the "bottom line". A large part of the coverage is from a "single source". It is easier to "copy" something than to work to obtain it oneself. Others will wait to be "provided" information by politicians or other organizations. They will then print it as if what they have been provided is "the truth", paying scant attention as to whether it is valid or represents "spin" by that particular individual or group. Next, we have those reporters who, due to whatever reason, present their opinions as supposed factual articles. That is due either to incompetence, their inability to distinguish between the two or, in some cases, having their personal agendas to promote. That is propaganda, not reporting. Such failures do not serve the public well and any subsequent claim to "freedom of the press" is a fraudulent claim.
Posted by Robert I. Laitres on September 22, 2007 10:39 AMThe media in this country couldnt be more slanted to the right. No stories on the Bush 911 conspiricy, war to steal oil,the scam of supposed religious Islam terrorists (who are actually freedom fighters while Christians are the real enemy), threat of mans global warming ,homo republican crimes, illegal wiretapping of terrorists, walmart taking over the world, corporate media silencing Dan Rather and his damningTRUE,AUTHENTIC Bush NG memo ,the Jew agenda of exterminating peaceful Palistians, etc ,etc,etc....
When progressive Americans speak out against these blatent un-reported atrocoties the Bushitler jack-booted brownshirts mute our couragous voices by tazing us.

Posted by Stan Broyles on September 22, 2007 11:54 AMYou can thank the Salzmans of the MSM for declining circulation, declining readership, declinining ad revenue, red ink, shrinking paper size and surging layoffs.
Everytime I go to Safeway or King Sooper, I am greeted by an army of people hired just to give a free newspaper away. America is on to these hyperlib socialists and their moonbat agenda. Thanks to them, the newspaper has been reduced to bird-cage liner. What a waste of good trees!

Are you a student? Let me guess. CSU - you're the editor of the student "newspaper" editorial page, right?
I wouldn't sign my name to that drivel, either. I knew everything when I was 14, too. Don't worry, you will probably grow out of it.
