Illegal immigrants taking jobs
Monday, September 17 at 1:02 PM

Irwin (Bill) MacLeod of Colorado Springs writes:

With 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants coming into this country our farmers are lamenting the shortage of farm laborers. How can this be? And they cannot find enough workers? With 12 million, or more, there should be plenty of workers - President Bush says these are jobs Americans will not take. The truth is these are jobs Mexicans do not want to take. There are visa programs that allow farmers to bring in farm workers from Mexico - but most of them do not want to pay the bus fare to their farms, and return fare. The problem has always been these farm jobs last from 30 to 40 days, and then they are out of work. They have to move a few miles, or hundreds of miles so these illegal immigrants are not taking the farm jobs - they are taking jobs that should belong to Americans, such as building industry, factory jobs, and jobs on our highways. These are jobs that Americans will do. So with thousands of illegal immigrants coming across our border every month, they will take the jobs that Americans will do. We have to close our borders, or more and more American jobs will be taken by illegal immigrants.

We the People created this problem by turning a blind eye. We the People created this problem when we told people that those jobs were beneath us, they were beneath our children. Now We the People are upset that 37.5 million illegal aliens are residing in our country, now knowing this what do WE THE PEOPLE going to do about it. For once start standing up and stand with a mass and stand up at your government offices demanding that they do something. Do something intelligent like SECURE the BORDERS (both north and south), do something like ENFORCE THE IMMIGRATION LAWS WE HAVE. Tell them that 9 GUEST WORKERS PROGRAMS ARE ENOUGH. We the People created this only We the People can fix it. Now what are you the People going to do....Stand up as Intelligent Citizens of this country....or sit and whine and complain about it?????

With all the opportunities for education in the USA, anyone who is so lazy as too settle for a factory job or shoveling asphalt deserves to have his job taken by a mexican

So Edmund your saying a physical labor job is below you. You must sit behind a desk and look down on those earning a respectable living. There are many with a collage education that do factory and asphalt jobs. As a matter of fact asphalt is black gold. A substance that is so cheap that is sold at a huge markup. However it is a physically demanding job. Guess in your mind physical equats to stupid.

Factory jobs pay good too. Ask the auto workers how much they make. Thier unions get them a real nice paycheck at the end of the week.

Your anti physical attitude gives one the idea that you would rather sit on your ass and cheat someone out of money instead of earning an honest living.

"Damn the torpedoes, full-speed ahead". We've already successfully fired a torpedo into the S.S. Amnesty (just another slave ship). In '08' we need to flush her 1st-mate, US Sen. Shamnesty Salazar and her crew-members, like Uncle Obama's Cabin (Congressional Black Caucus-CBC-comical blacks in congress), Groff, T. Carroll, Marshall, Jones, Poole, Milliner, Hancock, Wedgeworth-less, etc.

I won't try to out-do Oprah. This past May, she delivered the commencement speech at Howard University in Washington, DC. I didn't hear her speech, however, it was titled, "BLACKS SELLING OUT BLACKS". It blows my mind, black politicians have "cut and run" from the criminal illegal Mexican and Hindu-Indian quagmire. These illegals are emotionally and finacially raping black folks, nationally.

Our black business suits and dresses aren't much better. They are also a corps of gut-less wonders. Another mind blowing experience for me is the racism at RTD, being heaped by black big-house Negroes. In the past 17 years, I've applied for more than 25 high paying jobs at RTD, armed with my 2 masters college degrees, coupled with my federal 10 point disabled Vietnam veteran preference. I served in 3 deployments to Vietnam. Phil Washington, RTD AGM, black, who I didn't see in NAM, "decided" he would violate federal procurement, contracting, and hiring laws, by blackballing, blacklisting, and red-lining me, from all job and contracting opportunities within RTD.

Washington, Groff, T. Carroll, Marshall, Jones, Poole, Milliner, Hancock, and Wedgeworth-less, are doing the job of the K-K-k. These big-house clowns should be tried in federal court for federal funds fraud, waste, abuse, and RICO violations. They would be great cell-mates for Nacchio, Jefferson, Jeffers, Cunningham, Craig, etc.

Why should illegals settle for farm jobs when it is so easy to steal other jobs from Americans?

Bottom line is greed of the employers in this country. Why pay a legal citizen a decent living wage when they can pay an illegal next to nothing under the table while they ignore stolen identity or refuse to investigate it. Go to a restaurant and listen to the Spanish being spoken in the kitchen ( a sure sign of an illegal). All the construction going on around my neighborhood is being done by Mexicans. Look around at the road workers, largely Mexican. Cement workers, factory workers, Rocky Mountain News delivery people, landscapers, all jobs that were done by LEGAL American citizens for decades and decades but not now.

It is nothiing but crap to say that these are jobs that Americans won't do. It's all about GREED and the refusal of the leaders of this country to protect the American people.

I have relatives who had to go to trade school for 4 years to learn and master their trade and now they pick up Mexicans on the street corners to do these jobs. It's sickening what is happening to America.

It is a shame indeed.
