Mike Rosen
I often agree with Mike Rosen on politics, but I would be to differ with his account of valedictorian, Erica Corder, and her speech at Lewis-Palmer High School. What does Rosen define as a “pitch for Jesus?” If he means that one should not preach a sermon for a graduation speech, I might well agree. If, however, she merely mentions the name of Jesus, would that be considered taboo? Rosen does not define the violation of “reasonable school policy.” In short, the episode is but another blatant attempt on the part of secular schools to eradicate Christianity from the public square. The Lewis-Palmer incident is a case in point.

Mr. Stuckey: "...another blatant attempt on the part of secular schools to eradicate Christianity from the public square."
Why do you believe that Christianity belongs in public schools? American school children are a composite of many diverse ethnic, religious and national origin mixed in together in order to, hopefully, receive a basic education.
Where does Christianity merit special status over Islam. Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, etc? Aren't we supposed to have separation of church and state? As I recall our founding documents expressly prohibited the establishment of an officially sanctioned national religion.

However, his minion outdoes him with the notion of a "stripe-tease ".
I imagine some sort of dance involving zebra, yes?
Do your homework, Stuckey.
This supposedly "righteous" girl turned in one speech to the graduation committee, as required, knowing full well she did not intend to use it.
She got approval to make the speech turned in and then proceeded to deliver a different speech, her self-righteous sermon from the podium.
And by the way, Stuckey, public schools are SUPPOSED to be secular.
Duh!

She would of been guilty of the same offense and punished accordingly. Different violation, same punishment, no bias involved at all.
