No more front page stickies
Tuesday, September 4 at 1:54 PM

James R. Aubrey of Denver writes:

How annoying, not to be able to see Peyton Thorne's face in the front-page photo of the Katrina victims (8/29) because a sticker covers it with a used car advertisement. I have noticed that the Rocky Mountain News tends to have better photographs, every time I have compared the coverage of an event in the two Denver papers (most recently, for example, of the Minnesota bridge collapse). You play to your paper's strength with those large images on the front page. Please don't keep defacing them with advertising stickers.

Ah, yes. One of the major issues of our time.

I suspect a lot goes into the making of the entire paper. A lot of hands and eyes involved in the entire process. I'd bet that the front page is the one that gets the most attention, the most time spent deciding on the correct headline, the best photo, etc. As well as it should. It is how you put your best foot forward, your best impression, and then after all these high paid professionals get done making this most important page of the paper - you make the carrier slap on a 3x3 piece of graffiti.

No wonder papers are losing circulation when they make deliberate foolish decisions like this.

ATTENTION John Temple

Get RID of the front page sticky ads, already. Sheesh, you whine about most little criticisms regarding your paper...this is a MAJOR ONE.

There, that ought to take care of it once and for all...

REPEAT CALL:

ATTENTION John Temple

Hey, How come I had another sticker today? I thought we settled this yesterday.

Kindly take care of this annoyance.
