Stadium district doth protest too much
Thursday, September 20 at 12:01 AM

That a publicly financed baseball stadium district would attempt to create an ordinance to specifically target a single property owner, and prevent that property owner from exercising the full use of his property, should make every property owner in Denver nervous, not to mention outraged (“A stadium district foul/The push to create a view plane would ruin couple’s nest egg,” Sept. 10).
Moreover, that a stadium, which occupies multiple city blocks and arguably blocks a “view plane” itself, would allege that a single potential high-rise would block the view of a few fans slurping cocktails at Club Level during a ballgame is absurd on its face.
Here’s hoping the Denver City Council, after about 30 seconds of deliberation, trash cans that proposed ordinance for the sham that it is.

If the Denver City Council can get a few bucks slipped into thier pockets under the table. You bet they will not allow the building. Denver is very corrupt.

Not only do they screw over the citizens but they fail to live up to thier contractual obligations when it comes to care for facilities. Ask former mayors Webb and Pena how they diverted funds marked for thier end of maintance on facilities from the old convention center, stapleton, and Mile High all in order to further thier bank accounts and political careers. Fortunately the political careers died.

Baseball stadium? Heck, what about the foreign taxpayer welfare giveaway, called Mile High NAFTA Stadium. Silly me! I thought only the president and US Congress, could authorize foreign trade agreements. The Webb Gang (Stadium Authority) and his dixiecratic posse, gave this stadium built on taxpayers dollars, to Pat Bowlen and the Canadian gov't. Bowlen "punked" the dixiecrats though. In '04', he, St. Elway, and Mastermind, were jumping around like a bunch of monkeys, in support of "W" and his Iraq-NAM war. In the dark of night, St. Elway and Mastermind were packing their kids off to Iraq-NAM sanctuaries in Palo Alto and Tampa Bay.

When Champ Bailey was asked what were the most important issues in the '04' prez campaign, this mental-midget replied, "Iraq and tax cuts". His comments came on the heels of his $62 million contract. Bailey forgot his taxcuts are being financed by blacks, who have been pimped and exploited for centuries, and are being currently emotionally and financially raped by criminal illegal Mexicans.

Denver's city council has just rambled and wrecked its way to giving Xcel Energy a variance to continue to violate the "protected view" at Ruby Hill park. And this is after the neighbors over there offered to tax themselves to bury those power lines.

And now, the Colorado Rockies want city council to impose a "protected view" from inside their stadium. Let me guess: the Rockies don't want to pay a nickel to any of the property owners who's property rights will be taken away. The Rockies say it is part of the "experience" of seeing a ballgame. Well, so is paying 6 bucks for a beer, I guess. They should be ashamed.
