Leroy M Martinez of Denver writes:

The NFL has turned a blind eye to the issue of child support for Travis Henry, the running back. I understand that the NFL is not the court but their player should follow rules like other people. I pay child support through my employer. Why can’t the NFL help their player and auto deduct their support through their paychecks. If they already do then make Mr. Henry pay all support and back support and interest like another person.

why dont you ask the job of all deadbeat dads to deduct the support they owe ?

Henry's failure to pay child support wont be addressed by the NFL unless he bets the child support money on dog fights.

And then they'll suspend him so he can't pay child support.

Wow! It's no employers job to enforce child support Leroy. You need a new hobby besides writing your ill conceived letters to the editor.

actually, it is the state child enforcement agencies and attorneys can suspend licenses to work, licenses to drive, issue wage assignments wherein employers are required to deduct support and mail in the support to the obligee,issue contempt citations and establish support. So, maybe those mothers will be contacting the same shortly...love the see the numbers coming out of the child support calculations! I hope the guy has a financial planner!
