Two different forums in Greeley
Sunday, September 30 at 2:00 PM

Sylvia Martinez and Don Coloroso both of Greeley write:

A Solution-Based Result
On Tuesday evening we had two very different public forums occurring in Greeley. One sponsored by Ken Buck on the impact of crimes committed by undocumented people on citizens in Greeley and Weld County. The other forum sponsored by Realizing Our Community, an initiative funded by the Colorado Trust involving the City and some 27 other profit and for non-profit organizations.
Some 600-700 people attended the forums. Where do we go from here? What practical solutions came from Mr. Buck presenting his inflammatory information? What additional information needs to be presented before all our community begin to work together to heal the past and current riffs among people of multicultural backgrounds.
The fact remains, we are all related. There probably doesn’t exist a recorded true lineage of any group of people. It doesn’t matter where we come from, as human beings we have a responsibility for one another. That includes protecting the most vulnerable from harm. A small percentage of people violate this ethic and perform crimes against innocent persons. We grieve for the pain these circumstances leave for the victims and their families as a result of these human indiscretions.
It was pointed out at Mr. Buck’s forum that approximately 10-11% of the crimes committed and reflected in our county jail system are committed by undocumented persons. We have to ask the question, what about the 90 percent of documented/legal citizens who perform the majority of these crimes? What forums can we have to show the pain incurred by victims of these crimes and what ‘Office’ will be sought to help assuage this problem?
Immigration is a national concern and we need fair, realistic federal reform to address this issue.
Meanwhile what can we do as a community?
Realizing Our Community is looking for ways to live, play, and work in a healthy community - one that grows and fosters improved relationships with all, not isolates an individual group and targets that group without the resources to deal with specific issues raised by that small population. Seven hundred people showing up is a good thing, however our community is much larger than that. We would encourage Mr. Buck to join ROC and look for positive solutions to community harmony and safety for all, regardless of race , color, greed, ethnicity or sexual orientation.
We commend both groups for attending either forum. As a community we need more ROC forums and ask all citizens to not be bystanders to building a better community in which we could all gain. Get involved with Realizing Our Community and help build a compassionate, creative, harmonious, and thriving community that far surpasses what we have.

Here's a solution. REPORT AND DEPORT illegal aliens. Don and Sylvia ,you obviously have no problem advocating for your ethnic group. Now others reserve and deserve the same right.
By the way, you are right. These people are undocumented and ILLEGAL. REPORT and DEPORT illegal aliens. Remember..... It's the law, OUR law. Now that is a dose of fairness for you.

When Arapahoe County Sheriff informed our townhouse meeting in early Oct 06 that over 20% of his prisoners were illegal immigrants who HAD COMMITTED FELONIES, I took that very seriously. Living in Aurora, I lived with neighbors of 3 to 5 families in a 1 family home, and next door neighbors was 5 young men (age 20-30) with 13 vehicles, with trash accumulating between house and garage. I contacted zoning and police checked them out. Not allowed to ask citizenship, but did check living arrangement. When they moved, they had not been paying their rent, they bypassed the water meter with a hose, and jumpered electric meter. Trashed the house and it went back to lenders- Bank in Florida. Has been sold as "fix-up" and new owner has repaired house and lives there. Those young men who lived there dated, partied, and rebuilt several cars. One received new fenders, hood, radiator, front end and was repainted between Sunday morning about 7AM and Wed noon. Lynn Lyalls cannot rebuild one that fast. I believe I am safe the accident to that car on Sunday morning was not reported to police, insurance, or anyone else. My street has now stablized from constant changes of past 2 years, but it took legislative action by Colorado, effective 1 July 2006 to accomplish that. The young men moved out in Oct 06. If you doubt my story, I have photos and have furnished to legislators. So Sylvia and Don, I want to see the border secured, an accurate database established, a bio-media card issued to LEGAL immigrants, and no employment, contracts, or rental to anyone who cannot produce such a card. Preferably drivers license with information encrypted, so only authorized officials can read the info particular to their needs. I have carried a universal military ID card since 1951 with photo, fingerprints, with other data on memory strip. My experience shows this to be of benefit, not an invasion of my privacy. I am proud to carry such a card, having earned it with 26 years service. I do not support deporting all illegals. If they cannot work here, cannot live openly here, and cannot legally drive, I think they they will go home the same way they came. Anyone who chooses to support or hide an illegal immigrant had better have assets to cover all current and future expenses.

Sylvia and Don,

I hope you have read the above post by Frank 25.

ILLEGAL is illegal. NO objection to LEGAL immigrants. All are welcome here. Lawbreakers ARE NOT WELCOME.

Simple, huh?

The meeting Mr. Buck held sure did scare the hell out of alot of people in Greeley! (pro-illegals) Hopefully this will set a precedent all over the United States!!! KUDOS to you Mr. Buck!!!

What's the matter Sylivia and Don did the truth jump up and bite some of the people of Greeley in the butt? Have they had enough of the illegals already??? Hope so!!!!

Do you not understand that ALOT of the people in Greeley are fed up with the invasion of their town by people who do NOT deserve a place at the American table????

How many times are people like you going to wail about these "vulnerable" people????

I don't see these"vulnerable" people crying about the poor Americans that they have murdered. The American workers they have displaced. The neighborhoods they have trashed. The numerous crimes they have commited (ID theft and every other crime in the book!) The schools and health-care facilities they have over-run. To many others to list!!!

The ILLEGALS don't give a damn about being what they are ILLEGAL ALIENS!!! They think they are above the law! They don't care what we think!!!! They are not smart enough or to lazy to learn our language and scream racism if we complain about any of this!

The poor "vulnerable" dears. They demand undeserved and non-existant rights from the American people and wave their butt - ugly Mexican flag in our faces. Poor "vulnerable" people my a**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They do not belong here, and no amount of persuasion and whiney arguments by pro-illegal advocates like you, La Raza, LuLac, ACLU etc, etc, will convince the American people that these intruders should not be sent home!! They do not deserve anything from America!!!

They are Mexicans. Not Americans!! Mexico needs to take care of it's own people!! That country is a disgrace and very dishonorable because they have foisted upon the American people their masses of criminals, and un-educated people!

American Hispanics should hold loyalty ONLY to the U.S. not Mexico, as you and Don have Ms. Martinez. Shame on both of you!!!!!!!! Look up a Hispanic group called "You Do Not Speak For Me" and witness true Hispanic patriotism!!!

I do not speak for all Americans but I do know this.... More and more people are FED-UP with the hoards of Mexicans who have have broken the law and have crept across the borders with malice in mind!!!

COMPRENDE!!! Ms. Martinez and Don Coloroso???

Although I read the entire letter, all I needed to see was this sentence: "What practical solutions came from Mr. Buck presenting his inflammatory information?

If presenting these facts to citizens is considered "inflammatory" then I believe it exposes you and your group as just another pro-illegal apologist group that survives by playing the "victim card" on behalf of your constituents.

The only "practical solutions" your group is looking for appear to be for legal U.S. citizens and residents to continue to tolerate the presence of illegal aliens in our midst. If you can't tell, we're a bit tired of being told that we must be tolerant of this lawbreaking. Tired of being called racists, or nativists just because we would like to see our borders enforced and those not here legally to leave.

Most of us have absolutely no problem with legal immigrants. We welcome them. It is the uninvited guests we have a problem with - and groups like yours that support them.
