War in Iraq
B
That politicians can assemble so quickly to pass an amendment condemning an Ad(!), yet fail miserably to come together on an exit strategy for Iraq is appalling and offensive. In response to the failed efforts of democrats and republicans to come to any compromise or agreement regarding the increasingly tragic situation in Iraq and how to move forward,a jubilant and gloating senator MCcain taunted anti-war protestors with the chant of “we beat you,we beat you..” at a recent speaking engagement.
I am currently wracking my brain trying to imagine what it was he meant by that infantile refrain: who did “we” beat, what did “we” win?
For all the fuss and false outrage over an Ad that the GOp claimed was a slam against our military, they simultaneously denied the passage of a democrat proposed bill that would have insured our troops adequate leave with their families before redeployment. They voted against supporting our troops in favor of using them for political purposes.Talk about “disgusting"...
Things remain the same going into the 5th year of Bush’s Iraq war, people are attacked for their dissenting opinions about it and for daring to express them, politicians unite to denounce the exercise of free speech, and can even go so far as to produce and pass ,solely empty symbolic amendments in the hopes of intimidating the voice of the people, yet do nothing to truly represent them, ultimately support and protect our troops , this nation’s security nor the innocent Iraqui civillians Bush pledged to liberate.

I would like to explain some things to letter writer Beth Flynn. She probably does not know that the things the Democrats try to push through regarding the war in Iraq are to help the terrorists.Organizations like MoveOn.org are anti American groups that are trying to destroy our way of life. These groups give tens of millions of dollars to the Democrat party so the Democrats have to jump to their tune.George Soros is the main contributor to MoveOn.org and his main goal is to take away the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in the US.As we know from history the ones that want to disarm you are the ones that want to oppress you.George Soros is worth 7 billion dollars and is spending it to make the US like socialist countries in Europe. He himself comes from Greece and was not born in the US.I hope you understand that the battle we are fighting is to preserve our way of life and our enemies are the Democrat party and billionaire George Soros.
Posted by An American on September 30, 2007 08:42 PMBeth please excuse the oxycotin ramblings of An American and his one track mind ( I assume he has one, tho I am not sure). An American has a ONE item agenda. His guns. The 2nd amendment, that is it. He cares about nothing else .zip. zilch. Nothing ( similar to the brain activity between his ears). does not matter what the subject is, he will bring the 2nd Amendment into it. See, when a man is 'ummmm' less a man in as many areas as he is, he needs a gun in his hand to try and pretend he is a man to make up for all his manly 'shortcomings'.
Posted by Anti-Keith on October 1, 2007 06:49 AMBeth Anti-Keith is a good example of a person that does not understand history. He was probably educated in the public school so it is not his fault. The reason the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is so important is because it gives the ultimate power to the people.Throughout history the first thing tyrants did was disarm the citizens. The reason was because a people without the means to defend themselves were easier to control and oppress. When the Nazis came for the jews they wanted to make sure they could not fight that is why the Nazis had disarmed the jews years before. The Democrats are doing the same thing only slower. That is because when their friend George Soros and the Democrat party get full control of the US and take away or freedoms they do not want the citizens to be able to fight. The Democrats have learned from history and that is why they want our firearms.People like Anti-Keith have went to one of their brainwashing public schools and he was not taught history. We Republicans know history and will educate the public.
Posted by An American on October 1, 2007 11:06 AMBeth,I forgot to mention that even if Anti-Keith understands what I posted about the Second Amendment he probably will not like it because most Democrats are cowards and will not fight for anything.I have a Democrat friend that says that he would not shoot a criminal to save his wife and child. We Republicans have to be brave enough to cover for the cowardly Democrats.
Posted by An American on October 1, 2007 11:17 AMLets send all these brave Republicans to Iraq to fight the war. An American are you ready you to lead your platoon? Yo can have hank and keith in your platoon. Dont waste all that valuable braveness and frepower here in Denver, enlist, fight the war you believe in instead of cowering in your Denver basement. Rememebr there is the "no tell' rule so You and keith can enlsit without fear of being discriminated against.
Posted by anti-Keith on October 1, 2007 11:36 AMBeth this may come as a shock to you, but fighting a war is not like constructing a building. You don't have a definite timeframe for when the activity must be complete. If you find that crystal ball please let us know.
I'm sure anti is such a man that when he is approached by the enemy he will fight with his bare hands. What a laugh! He will be the first to submit to whatever they tell him to do because he is a spineless wimp.
Posted by TIRED OF LYING LIBERALS on October 1, 2007 02:46 PMI get disgusted by the rightwingers who are so in favor of this war. They support it so much they are content to stay here in their safe little homes instead of enlisting and really supporting their beliefs. These rightwingers are what I call chickenhawks. Hawkish on war but too chicken to fight themselves.
Posted by Tired of coward chickenhawks on October 2, 2007 07:02 AMbeth,By leaving Iraq now would be a failure, even the democraps know that. They know that now and in 06' when they were lying to Americans to con them out of there votes.
Posted by Keith on October 2, 2007 08:45 AMAnd today's Rocky is telling us that the surge has worked.Perhaps if W had NOT been reading the Truman/Kennedy/Johnson/Carter version of "The Art of War",we'd have surged much harder much earlier and had things under control the way we did and do now in Germany and Japan.
Posted by Jimminy on October 2, 2007 10:56 AMExcellant letter Beth. For the sake of our troops and this country let's hope the american people make a better choice in 2008 than they did in 2000 and 2004.
Posted by right-always-wrong on October 2, 2007 11:10 AMJimminy, that was the Powell doctrine. And they ignored it and went with the Rumsfeld idea.
