A 10th-grade effort
Thursday, October 4 at 12:01 AM

I would ask columnist Paul Campos whether he has any evidence to support his column of Sept. 25, “Is Bill Kristol respectable?” Or are we to assume that the associative responses in his head are news?
This piece had all of the intellectual and journalistic value of a 10th-grade creative writing assignment. All that was missing was a little more angst.
It’s impossible to disagree with someone who is only reporting what he thinks. If he thinks this, then by definition, he thinks this. If Campos were Sally Field it might be news. But he doesn’t have her stature, so it isn’t.
Why is the Rocky paying this guy?

Yaakov “Jim” Watkins, Denver

READER COMMENTS

Bill Kristol is simply another in a long line of "Islam-O-phobes", war-mongers, Arab exterminators, etc. I couldn't find this warrior and others of his ilk, when America called them to serve. These cowards placed her on ignore, and immediately called their rich daddies.

Did your daddy write this for you Yaako?

Campos is the 1960s poster boy for the TV ad showing a sizzling egg frying in a red hot pan:

"This is your brain on drugs."

Campos had his best years totally stoned and wallowing in the mud while naked at a Woodstock rock concert featuring Jimmie Hendrix. He's still frying his socialist brain and is a living example of why affirmative action really doesn't work.

A 10th grade effort? Wow...Campos is working way above his level of maturity.

A couple of weeks ago I sent an email to Paul Campos asking him why he is rooting for America to lose the war in Iraq.

His response was to say that we cannot lose Iraq because it was never ours in the first place. So, not only did he not answer my question, but he completely changed the context, and thus the entire meaning of my question.

I wrote back to tell him that and he did not write back for a while. So, I wrote again saying he still had not responded to a straight forward question with a straight forward answer. His replied to that by saying that my question was not a straight forward one, but was right wing propaganda.

Paul Campos doesn't have the spine to stand by his convictions and back up his defeatist claims.

09:26AM: "A couple of weeks ago I sent an email to Paul Campos asking him why he is rooting for America to lose the war in Iraq."

Good for a laugh. The poster wonders why Campos did not consider this a fair question.

Straight forward question for 09:26AM: why is it that you want Bush to become a dictator?

Hey Truth,

Where did you get the idea that I want Bush to become a dictator?

Frankly, I agree with Mr. Watkins. Campos made no effort to provide evidence of his insinuations. Apparently, we were just supposed to take his word that Bill Kristol is not "respectable". It was a bad piece of writing.

It is baffles me why RMN pays Mr. Campos for his writings. Most of the letters to the editor are better than any of his columns.

Yaakov "Jerkov" Watkins doesn't appear familiar with the concept of an opinion columnist...

04:39 doesn't appear to be familiar with the concept that a person has the right to criticize an opinion columnist.
