Cindy Lowry of Arvada writes:

I am in agreement with Amy Goodman’s column that she wrote this last weekend about President George W. Bush and his lack of cooperation with other Nations. The two main issues that she discussed in her artlice are the most troubling to our global community. Ever since President George W Bush took office, his narrow minded, stubborn thinking has prevailed, and it has not necessarily been for the “good of all humankind".
We all know that President George W. Bush has probably never ever considered using diplomacy in the MidEast — that would change his master plan for a Third World War predicted in the Revelations.
In regards to the global warming ( or climate crises), our President has never believed in the scientific data that suppports that this is occuring. All he is worried about is lining his gignatic pockets with oil profits, and forgetting the other consequences that can be fall all of us.
The words that our President are lacking in his vocabulary are the following — “cooperation, diplomacy,and open mindness” — they do not exist in this microworld. We can only hope that he will see the light before its’ too late for all humankind; but that could be a “pipedream” — play with the word “pipe” like in oil pipe line. Ha, ha.

First, it's only a "global community" when the US is holding the short end of the stick. So I guess as long as we're getting the shaft it's OK in your view. Just pick any US endeavor backed by the United Nations. Whether that's sending money, sending troops,etc. There'd be no United Nations without US backing.

Second, Kyoto would have had dire effects on everything we (America) do, make, purchase. All the while China would be allowed to build 3000+ coal burning plants a year without a care for the impact on the environment. Not to mention, everything you use in your daily life would have increased in cost several fold. Mind you every single Senator voted against the resolution when Clinton requested it, EVERYONE!. If Al Gore was so pro the environment, why wasn't there more of a fuss made then. Boy, he sure is making a ton of money off it now...

Third, whether you want to join reality or not, the US is dependent on OIL from foreign countries. The environmental "experts" in the US won't allow much change in harvesting what's here. So we've got to get it elsewhere.

Fourth, Middle East diplomacy. Carter tried it, Clinton tired it, every President since has tried it. None had any long term luck. You can never have diplomacy work when one side wants to eliminate the other side. Note: Iranian President calling for the extermination of Israel and saying the Holocoust never happened. So much for "diplomacy"...

I only intend to address your fourth point. The reason Carter, Clinton and every other president has been unable to bring about peace in the middle east is because Israel, through AIPAC, controls US middle East policy. You can keep misquoting the Iranian president about "the regime in jerusalem will pass through the pages of time (sic)"
but you will not secure peace until we, the Americans, address the legitimate grievances of the people in the middle east.

There's no misquote, here's what he said.
"Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday lambasted Israel and Zionism and quoted the late Ayatollah Khomeini calling for Israel to be "wiped out from the map." Taken directly from CNN, the liberal "source" of all things true.

And how about our liberal congress alienating Turkey one of our strongest allies in the Middle east. A resolution to condemn Turkey for some massacre that took place in World War 1, can they think of anything else to do to sabotage the war effort? The majority of the supplies going to our brave young men and women fighting in Iraq go through Turkey, they knew it and the Democrats knew what would happen.

It this what you are talking about when you suggest we work closer with foreign countries? The liberals have done everything possible to sabotage the war effort.

As to the "global community", in elections around the world from Australia to Japan to Canada to Mexico to Germany and more recently France, it was the pro-American candidate who won; the anti-American candidate lost.

Ok, here it is. The truth is out there. You can educate yourselves without watching TV or listining to the radio. It takes a little effort however. All of this regular crowd hasn't the intellectual integrity to do the work. They just like hearing themselve piss and moan. There are plenty of legitimate sources for real scientific information, actual documentation on international affairs, and the real voting records of Representatives and Senators. There is also the actual history of societies which can be studied and learned from. Never mind that, this crowd would rather be led like sheep to the slaughter by 20 second sound bytes. Never mind that it is possible to catch politicians in lies by verifying their statements. Nope they know what they want to believe and by god (or godess) they are going to look for someone to tell them it is true and then point to that statement as evidence. And this might be why our society is doomed. It has ,after all, happened before in a similar way, but they do not know this.

Just reported on Rush Limbaugh's show that Democrat Harry Reed ,head of the Senate sent a letter to Clear Channel trying to get Rush fired.All of the other Democrat Senators signed the letter.Here is a party that will make sure that the terrorists rights are protected and take away YOUR freedom of speech and Right to Keep and Bear Arms.Now you know what the Democrat party really is anti -American and pro-terrorist !!!

I still can't believe that a sizeable portion of the country thinks that Democrats are trying to destroy America. I mean, come on, that's just retarded, and yet here are people who claim to be rational, free-thinking adults who actually believe that if the liberals have their way, they will destroy America because they hate it.

These people vote. An American votes. And he thinks the whole liberal agenda is "destroying this country." Wow. I mean, just let that soak in, that this is what you have to debate against. No wonder the intellectual divide between parties is so vast, and no wonder all the educated people seem to be turning out to be liberal. A new article in the NRA American Hunter magizine by Wayne LaPirre,Executive VP of the NRA titled "Fairness Doctrine Tyranny" states"If the White House is taken by Hillary Clinton,or Barack Obama,or John Edwards- and if they[Democrats] hold control of both the US Senate and the House-then expect a massive federal government effort designed to choke off those pro-Second Amendment voices."He was talking about talk radio and the Democrats trying to take Rush,Sean and other pro gun voices off the radio.The Democrats claim they are for freedom of speech but they mean only for their terrorists friends or their media puppets.They are trying to destroy the First and Second Amendments.They do not believe in freedom for Americans that want to defend or rights they only believe in rights for those that want to destroy the US.
