Bill Johnson & CSU’s editorial
Friday, October 12 at 2:00 PM

Jay and Dianne Moyers of Centennial writes:

Would Bill Johnson think it a chance to teach if the CSU newspaper editor had insulted a politically-correct, protected class? Here are some examples: “F**** the homosexuals” (or you can insert your own slang word). “F*** the blacks” (or you can insert your own slang work). “F*** the Muslim Terrorists.” (Of course, the CSU newspaper staff would have to consider if they wanted their newsroom to be bombed, if they hinted at an insult for Muslims). Would those be acceptable curses in Mr. Johnson’s world? Would they be teachable moments?

It took two of you to come up with that?

It always takes 2 of them - I think they're just little right wing Siamese twins.

F*** Charles B. and drew.

Sometimes they're credited as J.D. Moyers.

Why on earth would a specific individual posing as president be considered a "class"? Even for stupid people like the Moyers this is lame.

Why all the discourse for cursing? Is it because real thought takes effort? The emotional blather is better suited for the simple minded or insipid pismires.

Once again the F word appears in which it is responsible for the manufacture of human bodies; however, name one word that is responsible for the manufacturer. Enough has been said about the letter writers.

“. . . if anyone in this audience believes that God made his body, and your body is dirty, the fault lies with the manufacturer.” Comedian Lenny Bruce

Notice the F-word supporters had nothing of substance to say. When they are offended by a word, they do not complain in letters to the editor . . . they get a casket and bury it.

Anyone here notice the college did the smart thing and left the editor in charge of cleaning up the mess he made? Now he has a whole year to replace lost revenue. He even made it more interesting by inspiring a competitor who will probably pick up even more of his ad business. Now he will get the chance to work at something and learn something rather than stand on a soapbox and play martyr.

I think that the Moyers have a good question.

This question really is about Johnson, not CSU.

Gene,

The would be "F-word" censors haven't said anything of substance either. All they have done is complain, which is all they ever do anyway. Except, of course, when they, themselves, are using some "F-word" equivalent to describe others, that is. Which, again, is all the "substance" they have to offer anyway.

There are thirteen separate letters about this issue on the current forum. Can you spell "obsession"?

Profanity is the tool of the ignorant and uneducated. Just look at who is supporting it.
