Bill Johnson & Greeley forum
Monday, October 1 at 10:22 AM

Doug Duncan of Aurora writes:

Bill Johnson neglected some key points in addressing last week’s town meeting in Greeley. Cities and towns all across America are holding similar meetings. In view of frustrations over an almost complete lack of will in the White House to enforce federal immigration law and the recent “sanctuary” declarations of a few large cities across America, U. S. Citizens are growing more fearful of the influx of the unknown. Neither Greeley law enforcement officials or legal inhabitants will ever know how many of its residents pose a potential threat to security. Various United States government agencies have estimated that somewhere between 12 and 30 million illegal aliens reside across America. These are obviously guesses and the resultant fear is leading to its ugly first cousin, anger. U. S. security agencies have admitted that terrorist “sleeper” cells exist here and future attacks are imminent.
If illegal residents were granted some sort of instant amnesty, what kind of security would they expect from for their families from their new government? I think they would likely gather with the rest of us in peaceful town meetings to relate experiences and discuss the security of their children and grandchildren. They would likely wonder why they should spend billions annually on a Department of Homeland Security which only makes empty gestures to protect our ports and borders. They would probably be influenced to demonstrate their anxieties toward their new government of choice. They might even realize that legal residence in a successful democracy requires active and responsible participation, just like those 600 citizens on that Tuesday night in Greeley.

Doug, An excellent letter!

I am so tired of writing, calling and typing trying to get the attention of SOMEONE who will listen to the voices of the people but I will NEVER give up! I will scream until I am heard and something is done.

Tension is building and instead of disappointed and disgusted, people are ANGRY. What has to happen before Washington and the state leaders of this country will act on their empty promises?

It better be soon.

I am totally confused and disappointed in black politicians, at all levels of gov't, with regards to the negative impact, criminal illegal Mexicans are heaping upon blacks, nationally. Our political "suits and dresses" and those in the business sector, have "cut and run" on working class blacks.

It boggles my mind that black politicians in Colorado have remained moot while criminal illegal Mexicans stole jobs from blacks, resegregated our neighborhoods, chased blacks out of Montbello, and nullified the votes of blacks living in N.E. Denver. This nullification was orchestrated by (SAG) Shamnesty Salazar and the GOP (re-districting scam).

The illegals registered and actually voted. These racist bozos didn't want N.E. Denver blacks to have a represented voice in the disbursement of more than $14 billion in federal funds (jobs and contracts), in the T-REX, Fas Tracks, CBMS, and Fitz redevelopment projects.

The Congressional Blacks Caucus (CBC) is out of touch regarding mandatory "ID" at the polls. Illegals and the GOP like the CBC's stance, where they are oppose to requiring "ID" cards for voters. I challenge the CBC during their '08' DNC Convention (gathering of happy big-house Negroes) to audit Denver's registered voters, and their SSN's. Its a simple DHL/INS computer job.

Mr. Duncan makes some good points. Rarely have we heard anything about the potential threat to national security posed by our open borders. Let’s face it, if millions of illegal aliens can flood into the US and face virtually no opposition, then it seems likely that an individual bent on doing serious harm (large scale destruction, mayhem, or other terrorist activities- not simply the economic damage wrought by the average illegal) could slip across the borders as well.

It looks like the Federal government has traded national security for easy access to cheap, easily exploitable labor.

On a related note, why don’t the newspapers and their columnists ask people like former Colorado governor Richard Lamm for their take on these matters (i.e. illegal immigration, the importance of English, etc.)? Lamm has written about and discussed the matter of illegal immigration and its impact in the past and would seem to be an excellent choice for a news organization seeking an opinion on the matter.

People who read these posts often overlook, what "40acres" has to say. However, he is accurate about illegal aliens negative impact on black people and people of minority status. I work with young people, and it is far more difficult for an American to get work than an illegal. Some job sites are Spanish only.

It is a farce to say that illegals take jobs that Americans dont want. My experience is the opposite. American youth take jobs the aliens dont want. Whole job sectors that were minority run, are now overcome by illegal aliens. Marches for the Jena 6, were foolish. There should be marches for the dead college students, stolen opportunities, and ethic suppression by illegal aliens.

The forum in Greeley is a start to reclaim opportunity. Funny, however, I knew more of the illegal alien gang members in Greeley than did law enforcement. There is a whole housing project of illegals who place orders for stolen goods from the gangs. The forum is a start. Perhaps we never will have to say to a young American, you can't go to college...your place was given to an illegal alien.

Obviously, MOST Americans are against illegals. True, they are illiterate, impoverished, uneducated and have no desire to become American. They are tearing our school system down and causing our public hospital system to crumble. But what do we do? We are good at complaining here and to our politicians. But LET'S DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT:
1) Do not buy anything from any business that hires illegals or accepts them as customers. And tell the business owners. Let them know they will lose business. 2) Report companies that hire illegals to ICE, your city, and spread the word to everyone you know. Let's do something about this problem. Are there any attorneys out there that can help? Can we sue gov't entities that do not enforce these laws. Can we sue companies that hire illegals? Can we sue homeowners who rent to illegals? Let's take this momentum to the streets!

Freebird,
You are so right as I read 40 Acres..he is right on. As I pondered, the phrase 'Illegals are doing the jobs Americans won't do"

I thought, where did these people get that lie from? Then I heard G.W. repeat that phrase, BUT he really meant (I"m sure) the "field" work. But ..Every bleeding heart, every illegal
ran with it, to this day..they really ,really think
they're doing the jobs Americans won't do.
When all along the American citizen white, black ,Spanish-American HAS done these jobs thru generations, I know I was one of them, also friends and family. This is tough for Americans ,youth and all. We have to be their voices.

That was the most legible, readable post I've ever read from you. Keep it up and I won't skip over your stuff any more.

You are spot on.
