CSU’s editorial
Thursday, October 11 at 2:00 PM

Kyle Newmyer of Littleton writes:

I share the belief with others that if the F-word was followed by “Hilary” instead of “Bush” we would not have heard a word from many of the current critics of CSU’s Rocky Mountain Collegian newspaper. ("Editor faces hearing for profane editorial", 9/28/07 Rocky Mountain News editorial.) The uproar is nothing more than feigned indignation from the College Republicans and like-minded individuals, mostly outside the CSU student community.
A college newspaper should be provocative. After all, it’s written *by*students, *for* students. Like it or not, Dick Cheney ensured the F-word entered the contemporary American lexicon while speaking on the Senate floor, no less.
So what’s the problem?
My wife and I are CSU graduates. We support the protection of free speech and the Rocky Mountain Collegian editorial board. Don’t let them Swiftboat you, Mr. McSwane.

Nice to know what the big issues for Republicans are, eh? About the only thing topping this is the outrage at Fox News over Obama not wearing a flag lapel pin. Hell, who wants substance when trite symbols are available?

This is just a stupid letter. If the author can't see any problem with major profanity going into a college newspaper, then he is kidding himself.

McSwane was stupid to do what he did. Actions have consequences and McSwane will have to publish after lossing a lot of advertising and now facing competition.

As for the comment about Don’t let them Swiftboat you" I see the left has taken the wrong lesson from the 2004 election. John Kerry wasn't caught by a lie, he was caught in many lies about his service. You folks need to vett your candidates better.

Why won't Kerry release the documents that support the award of the medals?

What really sunk Kerry were his own words.

Why won't Bush release the documents associated with felonious (UCMJ-felon. AWOL, deserter, and guilty of illegal separation and discharge) dis charge from the Texas Airnational Guard? Better yet, why wont USSC Affirmative Action (AA) Judge Aito, surrender his military documents associated with felonious (UCMJ-felon, AWOL, deserter, and guilty of ilegal separation and discharge) discharge from the US Army's ROTC progra,? Bush pimped and exploite taxpayers for 2 years of flight training. Alito pimped and exploited taxpayers for 7 years of "free" education (JD/undergrad degrees). Where are those military service investigative sleuths like Lim(P)baugh and FDDA (Future Draft Dodgers of America)/CSU Republicans/Ram Republic. Pretend these patriots are black.
