CSU’s editorial & Bill Johnson
A simple perusal of today’s edition displays a perfect example of the reason so many people have chosen to get their news from sources other than the mainstream media. In his opinion piece about the Collegian’s attention-grabbing headline fiasco Bill Johnson tells us not once, not twice, not three times, but four times that ‘according to the polls’ the majority of people in the US erupt into a blue streak whenever President Bush is mentioned. He then labels those offended by McSwane’s editorial whoopsy as ‘partisan loudmouths and other knuckleheads.’ We’re supposed to be dialoguing with the Iranians to prevent war but I doulbt Mr. Johnson could have dinner with a person who disagrees with his politics without coming to verbal blows.
Granted, Mr. Johnson’s column is an opinion piece, so to strengthen the unsaid point that the liberal view is actually the world view, in a report headlined ‘Cheney’s visit ousts workers’ Tillie Fong admits 5 paragraphs into the article that there was disagreement over whether the occupants of the building Cheney visited yesterday were actually ordered to evacuate the premises. A grand total of five protesters showed up to rally support to impeach ‘evil Cheney’ but one would have to read the entire piece to gather that information, since the accompanying photo manages to catch 4 of the 5 protesters present in frame.
Protester Nick Dodich, the only one to show up in time to be possibly be seen by the Vice President, explains that he hoped Mr. Cheney could have seen his sign ‘World court impeach and try Bush and Cheney for war crimes’ in order to spark an intellectual debate with Mr. Cheney and Mr. Bush. That’s why I get my news and opinion from more than one source, and no, The Daily Show doesn’t count.

What the hell is wrong with the democrats? H. Clinton, Kerry, Edwards even that traitor Murtha voted for action in Iraq. Yet now that our troops are fighting Al-queda in Iraq dems want us to run away and let Al-queda and the rest of the terrorists completely take over Iraq. What fools dems are. Do you really think Al-queda and the terrorists are just going to lay down their Iranian weapons if we leave Iraq? Hell no, they’ll go on killing women, children and civilians because that’s what they do. They’ll keep growing until once again they attack us on our own soil. But dumbocrates just don’t get it. How do these idiot dems get through life each day when they show absolutely no common sense?
At least President Bush has the ball to take the fight to them. Unlike Clinton who sat through many terrorist attacks getting blow jobs from a teenager. Yeah, you dumbocrates really have your priorities straight.
I see the oh so courageous anonymous one is back with its usual recitation of wingnut blathering points.
It asks about coping without what it terms "common sense" which is wingnutspeak for think just exactly like I do.I'd ask how wingnuts like this courageous one get through the day operating on the basis of so many errors of fact such as Ms. Lewinsky's age or the fact of the oft-repeated inaction when the wingnuts themselves often cite cruise missiles and empty tents or aspirin factories, usually without noting the near constant howls of wag the dog from newt the toots contract on America republican majority in congress.
Republiturds; their loss is America's gain.

Kerry and Murtha fought and were wounded fighting for their country. What did you do that makes you more patriotic than them? You can disagree w/ them all you want, but don't question their patriotism, since they did more for this country than either Bush, Cheney, or in all likelyhood- yourself. I wonder what all Rush and Hannity did for our nation as well. You probably think that all one has to do to be patriotic is wear a flag pen and be a dittohead to Bush's policies.
Secondly- I don't like Clinton's BJ anymore than you, but she wasn't a teenager. She was in her 20s. I guess you aren't smart enough to know that when a person has an age that doesn't end in the suffix "teen", they aren't teenagers.

Your letter was on the mark. It is clear we have an ill-informed and loutish citizenry. Education would seem to be a major cause, but also the answer.
